Good spot, that is the first confirmation we have seen that they are moving into profit for this tax year. I wonder which quarter is the turning point?

indeed nice find accumulator.

i like the word PROFIT!..i have not heard that before either..

Chairman and chief executive Richard Parris said the new orders would help to boost the company's profits this year.

AND

The business is on track to return to profit in the year to March 2009 after five years of losses. Its total sales were £2.8 million last year.

Grab them while you can at sub 30p!

With a tiny bit of luck we could break out of the stock price demise and see ourselves at 40p plus.

It's a strange sitation with this illiquid stock that by buying more you increase the paper value of what you already own. I am still happy to hold for the long term and will top up by Tuesday. So free feel to sell until then so I can get them as cheap as possible!!

Here's the official IPS press release.

Thales awarded National Identity Scheme contract

Friday 1st August 2008

IPS is pleased to announce that Thales has been awarded a four year contract to support IPS in delivering the early releases of the National Identity Scheme (NIS). Thales will work with IPS to design, build, test and operate the technology that will deliver the National Identity Register and support the issuing of Identity Cards from the second half of 2009.

As announced in May, another contractor will be responsible for the manufacture of the physical cards.

This contract award follows a procurement exercise using the NIS Strategic Supplier Group framework arrangement, awarded in May 2008. The value of the contract is £18 million.

Thales is a world leader in the provision of mission-critical information systems for the security, aerospace and defence markets. It is a major employer in the UK, with 10,000 employees based at 60 locations.

Good find Accumulater. I rather like:
"The level of activity in all aspects and regions of our business is greater than it has ever been and we are benefiting from participating in one of the few technology markets that is rapidly growing despite of the economic downturn,"

Just keep having to prove it I guess.
