22/6/2017 13:18 | "For logistics companies, fuel cells are just one piece of the puzzle For logistics companies, fuel cells are just one piece of the puzzle June 22, 2017 UPS will deploy a fuel cell prototype on public roads in September, and whilst the future of powertrain remains as murky as ever, it is thought FCVs could gain ground. By Xavier Boucherat As the world’s largest delivery company, emissions reduction and sustainability are ongoing concerns for UPS. The company’s global fleet consists of 108,210 vehicles, and over 100,000 drivers logging over 3 billion miles per year. Of these, around 8,300 vehicles use an alternative fuel such as compressed natural gas (CNG), or an advanced technology powertrain. The latter category includes electric and hybrid-electric vehicles, hydraulic hybrids and vehicles made from ultra-lightweight composites, which can weigh up to 900 lbs (408kg) less than their steel counterparts. The ‘Rolling Lab’, the company’s collective name for its non-traditional vehicles, has reportedly driven more than one billion miles since 2000, and now clocks over 1 million miles a day…." from | dean windass
22/6/2017 13:15 | "Collaborative efforts continue on fuel cell vehicle cost reduction June 21, 2017 The cost of fuel cell stacks remains prohibitive for many, but component suppliers are working in tandem to produce affordable, next-generation stacks. Xavier Boucherat talks to Dana about parts supply to fuel cell vehicles Launched in 2016 with the support of the European Commission, the Integration of Novel Stack Components for Performance, Improved Durability and Lower Cost (INSPIRE) programme is a three-year research and development project, set up to develop and test new fuel cell stack technology. INSPIRE is one of 203 projects backed by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, a European public private partnership which predicts greatly …" from and "From track to truck, the race is on to take FCVs to the mainstream June 22, 2017 Swiss-based GreenGT has made waves with its racetrack-worthy hydrogen-electric concepts, but the company’s goal is to help accelerate the wider introduction of fuel cell vehicles. By Xavier Boucherat Fuel cell technology has piqued the interest of many in the automotive industry, including those in the performance and competition sectors. Since beginning the group in 2008, GreenGT founder and R&D Director Jean-Francois Weber has been involved in the design and development of high-performance electrified powertrain solutions which, in the words of the company, respond to the scarcity of fossil fuels. Previously the group has worked with OEMs such as Citroen on concepts such as the Survolt, but GreenGT’s work on the track has so far generated it the most headlines…" from | dean windass

22/6/2017 12:49 | ibug you are rude and aggressive. Some of what you post, very little, is of real use and I appreciate it but most of it is just rubbish and really doesn't help IEH at all. I have noticed that every time someone takes issue with you, usually by mentioning well known facts about the company, you call them stupid and advise them to, as above, clear off. Perhaps the time has come for you to take your own advice and give us all a rest. | edwardroger

22/6/2017 11:13 | AND OFCOURSE THERE IS THE SUZUKI RELATIONSHIP: MORE BUSINESS IS LIKELY TO ARRIVE FROM SUZUKI AND THE 10 YEAR PARTNERING WITH IEH Suzuki Bergman --- It may be said that the catalyst of change for the Suzuki Bergman will likely happen this summer when the London Police complete trials of the scooter and place their first order. Should that happen then we can start to expect other police forces in the UK and Europe to follow their example. The Bergman was approved by the EU for mass production in late 2015 and has already been road tested etc. It is currently under going road testing in Japan. The time is becoming ripe for the first H2 powered scooters and motorcycles to be released because of more widespread availability of refueling stations in the USA, Uk, EU and Japan. Making the scooter a viable commercial opportunity. | ibug

Orders are now being taken for the FCM-800 fuel cells Loughborough based Intelligent Energy Holding PLC (LON:IEH) has today launched a new range of zero-emissions fuel cell technology. The commercial product range, the FCM-800 series, comprises fuel cell modules suited to both stationary and portable applications, and are capable of delivering between one and four kilowatts. It is an international launch and orders are now being taken, the company said. Investors welcomed the news, with the London-listed share rising 14% in Wednesday’s early deals. “The team has worked hard to deliver this new range and it is an exciting time for the company as we expand our product portfolio,” said Alistair Ball, director of product delivery. “Importantly, the FCM-800 series is economically competitive and we are confident that our new product range will be well received." Group chief executive Martin Bloom, meanwhile, said: "It has been a positive first year for product-led commercial development for the company. “Since my arrival, we have outlined a new strategy to maximise commercial opportunities and build the business. “We have been able to commercialise our world leading technology developed over a 30-year period.
