The LSE website shows 100% buying activity yesterday and so far today --- trades are looking good.

Most of the other social media sites can only show Order Book trades which represents the minority of trades making the market look skewed.

Some of the sites affected are: Google Finance, ADVFN, Yahoo Finance and the London Stock Exchange websites.

It would not be surprising if IEH get a large slice of that government funding to integrate their air cooled 20KW HFC into domestic heating and power systems.

BIG GOV H2 PROJECT --- The UK Government is providing £35 million of funding for two clean energy projects.

Newly-appointed BEIS Minister Claire Perry said the money will be invested in smart heating systems and innovation in using hydrogen as a potential heat source.

A total of £10 million will support the second phase of the Energy System Catapult’s ‘Smart Systems and Heat Programme’.

It aims to help develop energy plans with local authorities and bring down the cost of energy bills while supporting the development of the UK’s low carbon heating projects.

A further £25 million will be invested in testing the possibility of domestic gas pipes for hydrogen and developing a range of innovative hydrogen appliances such as boilers and cookers.

Ms Perry said: “Our aim is for the UK to be a global leader in innovation, science and research and our Industrial Strategy will help us to deliver our ambitious CO2 reduction targets while creating jobs and opportunities for people across the country.”

YET MORE MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS ----- YET MORE MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS in the hydrogen space as Norway plans to become an H2 powered economy

Hydrogen: Fuel of the Future

author Added by FuelCellsWorks, June 21, 2017

Heavy-duty trucks will soon be driving around in Trondheim, Norway, fuelled by hydrogen created with solar power, and emitting only pure water vapour as “exhaust”. Not only will hydrogen technology revolutionize road transport, it will also enable ships and trains to run emission-free.

PLENTY OF NEW ORDERS :))) ---- Interestingly, with this growing pipeline of new business being won since February revenues are going to translate into cash generative free cash flow at some point.

Note what the CEO said just last week about new FCM 800 Series orders:

It is an international launch and orders are now being taken, the company said.

This is becoming a classic production led turn-around scenario.

HERE IS A RECAP ABOUT THE BALLARD Deal with Volkswagon that a similar deal might be struck by IEH with one of it's four major car manufacturing research partners. THIS RECENT DEAL WAS STRUCK LAST September.

An interesting feature of the Ballard-Volkswagon deal is that the tech sold is a renewable non-exclusive agreement with a timeline that expires in 2019 worth $80M - $112M USD. Ballad said that they expect the deal to yield far more revenue in the future as the H2 market in China takes off. The Ballard team are clearly highly skilled negotiators to have put together the Volkswagon contract. Before the last September deal Ballard was a loss making business and they are now making a significant number of commercial deals after a long period of failure to commercialize their products.

This article clearly illustrates similarities to IEH. THAT LINK HAS A PROBLEM SINCE I LAST VIEWED IT BUT THE INFO PROVIDED IS A VABATUM ACCOUNT OF WHAT IT SAID.

IEH have been trying to commercialize their products for a long time and just like Ballard's were surprised at the lack of progress. However now that the business is far more keenly focused they now have a steady stream of success that is expected to build with significant numbers of medium volume contracts. The catalyst of change will most likely come from marketing Pro UAV Drones as the market demands longer flight times and faster recharging than Lithium batteries; and also from the long standing Suzuki relationship. Which is highly likely to yield large volume production orders for the 4KW air cooled HFC's.

It would not be surprising to see IEH do a similar contract as Ballard's for their 100KW HFC in the growing H2 bus space.

IP Valuations

To estimate IP valuations it is worth considering the valuation of the Ballard Energy 100KW automotive fuel cells which Ballard effectively leased out on a non exclusive agreement with Volkswagon last September worth between $80 - $120 million USD for just three years. That agreement comes up for renewal September 2019.

Ballard's business model has been historically very similar to that of IEH and both company's have had difficulty commercializing there IP into saleable products. But now Ballard's are steaming ahead with a monthly success rate to win over new customers making their business today profitable and viable with an share price of about $2:50 USD

But the Ballard Energy IP is far smaller and less efficient than the IEH innovations. IEH have developed more than 1800 patents that includes at least a dozen or more main stream fuel cell systems developed for specific markets along with H2 gas cartridges for drones and portable devices.

If all the IEH 1800+ patents were sold with an 'Average Price' of just 500,000 then the total IP would be worth 0.9 Billion USD.

The cash burn re rising costs in the face of rising turnover is a real problem for me here

Another time I might be tempted but at current rates it looks to me like the cash is going to run out this year even as turnover rises again.

The other thing that I have a problem with is the price of OIL which looks to say locked in a range around $30 to $50 for years.

I can't see the massive push to change from OIL based fuels to Fuel cells and the like with OIL at such low levels

I guess it was over 100$ when companies like this floated and attracted investors, times have now changed and OIL cycles can be long ones of circa 8 years.

All down to timing , and the chart here tells the story

IE-CHP does not exist. IE CHP changed its name to Vanilla Energy. Vanilla Energy was wound up on 26th September, 2016. Look up 'Companies in the UK' on the web and then Vanilla Energy and you will see. I don't expect many orders will be coming from there in the near future.

The City of Aberdeen have now replaced all their diesel busses with H2 Fuel Cell Busses...the rest of the UK are now following their great example. The lead London is showing will expand far more rapidly than planners have estimated.

At least the jobs market will expand a lot in the manufacturing sector over the coming decade.

So it now looks like the Suzuki - IEH Bergman Scooter will likely be bought by London's Police force....that welcome news will arrive soon imo.

It should be noted that IEH already co-operated with Peugeot on a hydrogen powered VAN!! The all electric version could only manage a range of 60 miles loaded ... the H2 version managed 180 miles. The tech is there. As Henri Winand said "We're ready. We're just waiting for the green light from the market" (actually, I'm paraphrasing there!!)

The larger emission free zone will dramatically increase the uptake of H2 cars working as driverless Uber cars or taxis. EV vehicles can't earn money whilst charging. One assumes there will be fleets of H2 cars operating in the emission free zone avoiding pollution and congestion charges. Some commuters may opt for EVs if they can charge them at their place of work but how many companies are going to want to adapt their work place car parks to accommodate staff vehicles and how are the electric bills calculated? I can't see it happening. It'll be interesting to see which fuel fleets operating in emission free zones opt for ... royal mail, police, fire, ambulance, government, local authority, utilities, telecoms, couriers, security (G4S), UPS, TNT .... next time you're in London, have a look around at all the vehicles that will probably be replaced quite quickly with H2 vehicles and I think it will happen soon. Why? Because who is going to want to order fleets of brand new diesel vehicles to operate in emission free zones when their working life looks to be limited? EV are not suited to load carrying ...

EXCELLENT NEWS FOR ZERO EMISSION HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS:

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan wants city to have a zero emission transport system by 2050

The Mayor of London has laid out ambitious, sweeping plans to transform the city's transport system. Paul Morozzo, a clean air campaigner at Greenpeace, welcomed the plans. " London is the latest in a line of major world cities seeking to boost its green credentials.

The Mayor of London has laid out ambitious, sweeping plans to transform the city's transport system.

The publication of Sadiq Khan's draft Transport Strategy includes a wide range of proposals, from ensuring the city's entire transport system is zero emission by the year 2050 to making the city's sprawling bus network fully zero emission by 2037.

Other aims include cutting car journeys by three million each day and the target of 80 percent of journeys being made by cycling, walking or public transport by 2041.

"We simply cannot afford to take the same old approach to travel as our growing population puts increasing pressure on our network," Khan said in a statement.

The mayor added that the long term vision he was setting out put "walking, cycling and zero-emission public transport right at the heart of our day-to-day lives."

"Only by focusing on active travel, providing efficient zero-emission transport and reducing our dependency on cars, can we improve the health of Londoners, support economic growth, deliver homes and jobs, and make our city an even better place to live," Khan went on to state.

Paul Morozzo, a clean air campaigner at Greenpeace, welcomed the plans. "Investing in public transport, walking and cycling is crucial to solving the air pollution problem effectively," he said.

"We also look forward to the Mayor's initiatives in the short term, which will improve air quality by helping to phase out the diesel vehicles responsible for much of the roadside pollution blighting our city and expanding the ultra-low emissions zone," he added.

Another commercial venture IEH are involved in which I knew nothing about .... there seem to be loads of them!!

"Canadian PEM fuel cell manufacturer Hyteon and smart power pioneer IE-CHP in Scotland, UK have signed a commercialisation agreement, as further trials of an innovative domestic smart power unit get under way in Scotland."

and, elsewhere ....

"SSE adds weight to fuel cell push
Company joins backers of IE-CHP unit aiming to transform power market
SSE has backed a fuel cell start-up developing smart power units, or ‘mini power stations’, which use mains gas to generate electricity and hot water in homes.
IE-CHP, which is based in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, has raised £800,000 in funding for the contraption that analysts Ecuity claim could transform the UK power market. Supporters also include Intelligent Energy and the Scottish
Ecuity estimates that smart power units are suitable for 90% of UK households and small businesses, totalling around 22 million properties.
“IE-CHP’s smart power technology works with existing boilers,” said IE-CHP technical director Mark Bugler. “This makes it much easier to install in people’s homes than was possible with earlier approaches and opens up a potentially enormous UK market.”
The fuel cells work by taking mains gas and converting it into hydrogen, which then feeds into a hydrogen fuel cell stack. The fuel cell converts the hydrogen into low-cost electrical power and heat, both of which can be used by the home.
Ecuity claims a roll-out five million of the units across the UK by 2030 would generate annual energy bill savings of £1000 for the consumers and gas savings of 35TWh, equal to about 7 per cent of total UK gas imports.
It would also “introduce 5GW of new flexible distributed capacity into the energy system, equal to about 14 major new gas power generation units.”
The idea has already taken hold overseas with more than 80,000 smart power units installed in Japan as part of a drive to introduce 5.3 million units by 2030.
“The attraction for consumers and energy utilities is enormous and we welcome the strong backing from SSE, Intelligent Energy and Scottish Enterprise, who recognise the potential of IE-CHP’s approach,” added Bugler.
SSE head of ventures Derrick Allan said: “The energy efficiency and network benefits the smart power units provide will bring benefits to both consumers and suppliers alike.
“Additional testing and development over the next 12 months will only enhance and further validate its important role in UK households in the coming years.”

Yet more funding for hydrogen. The UK seems to be getting serious about catching up. Bearing in mind IEH's JV with Scottish power and the work they have already done working with combined heat and power fueled by hydrogen, I'd expect them to get a piece of this action

"The UK Government is providing £35 million of funding for two clean energy projects.

Newly-appointed BEIS Minister Claire Perry said the money will be invested in smart heating systems and innovation in using hydrogen as a potential heat source.

A total of £10 million will support the second phase of the Energy System Catapult’s ‘Smart Systems and Heat Programme’.

Ms Perry said: “Our aim is for the UK to be a global leader in innovation, science and research and our Industrial Strategy will help us to deliver our ambitious CO2 reduction targets while creating jobs and opportunities for people across the country.”

and IEH have already exhibited at the "Energy Systems Catapult" event

"This week Intelligent Energy will be exhibiting at the first Midlands Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Network 'Midlands Showcase', on 17 May at the Energy System Catapult in Birmingham.

Intelligent Energy will be showcasing its air cooled fuel cell stacks at the event, and Dr Lee Juby, Business Development Director at Intelligent Energy, will be speaking about the wide range of applications fuel cells can be used for.

Dr Juby said: 'There is massive potential for fuel cells and here at Intelligent Energy we develop and manufacture modular air cooled fuel cell stacks and systems that can be used in a wide variety of applications from two and four wheeled motive, stationary and distributed power to lightweight stacks specially developed for the aerial drone markets.

'With our HQ in Loughborough we are ideally placed and proud to be supporting this Midlands event and we are looking forward to demonstrating to visitors how fuel cells could work for their business.'"
