PLENTY OF POTENTIAL HERE IMO

Expecting a lot more news about UAV's/ Drones in Japan/USA + mobile power systems and home micro grids.

Intelligent Energy will be showcasing its air cooled fuel cell stacks at the event, and Dr Lee Juby, Business Development Director at Intelligent Energy, will be speaking about the wide range of applications fuel cells can be used for.

Dr Juby said: There is massive potential for fuel cells and here at Intelligent Energy we develop and manufacture modular air cooled fuel cell stacks and systems that can be used in a wide variety of applications from two and four wheeled motive, stationary and distributed power to lightweight stacks specially developed for the aerial drone markets.

Fuel Cell Powered Drones

Extended flight times

The use of commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones is growing rapidly. Seven million drones are expected to be sold in the United States alone in 2020 according to the Federal Aviation Administraion.

Flight time has not kept pace with technological advances due to the limitations of traditional battery technology. For commercial use, drones need to offer better flight times and range. A longer flight time coupled with a quick refuel opens up a wide range of new commercial possibilities, including UAVs for inspection of offshore platforms, search and rescue, high quality aerial photography, precision agriculture, parcel delivery and much more.

Building upon Intelligent Energy’s long track record in developing highly innovative fuel cell systems that have been extensively field tested in automotive and stationary power applications worldwide, we now provide a unique solution to extend flight times to drones presently constrained by the limitations of batteries. Flight durations of over three times that provided by batteries have been achieved and fuel cells provide a natural solution for manufacturers moving to larger drones and heavier payloads.

Intelligent Energy’s air cooled fuel cell systems run on hydrogen and ambient air to produce clean DC power in a simple, cost-effective, robust and lightweight package. They have a higher energy to mass ratio than battery based systems and can be refuelled in a few minutes.

Government of Canada to develop a national Zero-Emissions Vehicle Strategy by 2018 including Hydrogen

Transportation accounts for about 24 percent of Canada's emissions, mostly from cars and trucks. ZEVs which include battery electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, offer the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the light-duty vehicle sector. Canada is also uniquely placed to take advantage of the opportunities associated with the advanced technology driving this evolution - including innovation, R&D and talent – to create high quality middle class jobs.

Under the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change, federal, provincial and territorial governments committed to work with industry and stakeholders to develop a Canada-wide ZEV strategy by 2018. This strategy will be ambitious and will build on existing initiatives, such as light-duty vehicle regulations, provincial ZEV programs, and Canadian innovation superclusters, to help meet our 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target and realize our potential as a global leader in innovation and the clean economy.

I agree re value of IP .... depends if the loan note holders / majority shs want to be fair to minor shareholders. When run out of cash they could effectively take control and or private game over.

I still reckon the value of the IP is more than enough to keep shareholders secure ..... it's valuable enough to sustain quite a bit of dilution IMHO ... I'd be interested in seeing someone doing the maths .... Yahoo value the IP at 1.32 billion. That may be right, it may be wrong but since the market cap of the co is about 15 million quid, there's a hell of a lot of IP value backing this up ..... but please, let's see the sums and the thinking behind them. I#m interested in all views on here.

With every new commercial deal the cash burn reduces and the business becomes better positioned imo. No immediate problems and we are yet to hear from Suzuki about when production of their scooter will start as the Met Police are trialing them right now. After the trials we can expect National City Police forces to start placing orders.

@meganxmas quite, currently the money in the bank is due to run out in February or March of next year. So that's the timescale to be aware of with this company.

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING

Advanced air cooled fuel cell gets equally advanced assembly line - WMG Partnership with Intelligent Energy

author Added by FuelCellsWorks, May 31, 2017

Robert Harrison, Professor of Automation Systems at WMG at the University of Warwick said:

“The project partners bring unparalleled levels of hydrogen know-how from automotive OEMs and recognised leaders in fuel cell and component development and manufacture.”

“WMG will apply its assembly automation research and knowledge to significantly reduce the projected cell assembly cycle times for the new fuel cell by over 75%.

“We will also assist in the implementation of digital manufacturing techniques that will play a crucial quality control role in the fuel cell manufacturing process.”

The project will help develop technologies for large-scale production capability in order to meet expected future requirements of more than 50,000 fuel cell stacks by 2020.

Here is a summary of rather exciting recent news coverage about the marketing plan as it continues to roll out.

Intelligent Energy’s British fuel cell technology will be at the heart of a fleet of scooters to be used on London’s roads this summer as part of a hydrogen fuel cell technology fleet trial with the city’s Metropolitan Police.

Intelligent Energy has signed a stationary power deal with US-based Luxfer-GTM Technologies as part of a growing strategic relationship in the development of a line of integrated fuel cell products.

Intelligent Energy has signed a deal with PINC to supply its air cooled fuel cell systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), marking Intelligent Energy’s first sale of fuel cell systems for UAVs as the Company moves forward with the commercialisation of its technology.

A programme has launched to provide a blueprint to enable fully automated future mass manufacture of fuel cell stacks for the automotive market.

Fuel cell technology company Intelligent Energy will, this month, showcase its cutting edge air cooled fuel cells at the Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Automotive Engineers in Yokohama.

I wonder how many of these gizmos contain IEH's IP going back to the 2015 revealing of the tiny HFCs embedded in an iPhone 6 keeping the phone going for a week between charges

Thinking about the value of IEH's IP portfolio ... nearly 2,000 patents granted already or applied for ....
The value of the IP, according to Yahoo Finance is 1.32 billion quid ..... it'd be nice to know how that was calculated ...... where did yahoo finance get that figure from? Because as the adoption of hydrogen grows ... I don't think anyone can argue the news flow hasn't increased quite a bit in the last year, the first hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles have hit the roads, the network of hydrogen filling stations is growing quite dramatically, the advent of the drone news and the use of HFCs in gensets plus all the aviation and military uses (and space exploration) ... in theory, at some point .... IEH starts to make money from its IP .... with China now appearing to be determined to avoid green house gases regardless of what the US does and Japan going heavily into hydrogen, as a long term hold, I reckon this is quite a safe bet.

Very interesting developments imo

German and Italian companies will work together to bring more fuel cell vehicles to Europe

German and Italian public transportation companies are coming together in order to help develop new fuel cell buses in Europe. This is part of a larger European Union initiative that aims to cut down on urban emissions and improve the overall air quality of European cities. The German and Italian companies are seeking to develop 63 new fuel cell vehicles, which will serve as public transit solutions in major urban areas.

About the cost of H2 in the states @ $3:50 USD/kilo --- I read about that last September, a national truck manufacturer/ gas supplier said they were offering very low cost H2 on the basis of mobile refueling.

the article was in the following H2 daily developments news link --

Well worth reading---includes some military applications today in Germany and the States.
