06/9/2021 14:28 | csmwssk12hu - believe what you like. We don't use FBA and commission is nowhere near the 18% you mention, as the following Amazon link proves (you'll need an Amazon UK seller account to access this link): Your comments about businesses purely using Amazon for advertising are just plain bonkers. I'm sure most sane readers here will see straight through your comments and the mischief-making you're trying (but failing miserably) to create. | lord loads of lolly
06/9/2021 11:51 | I don’t believe you have sold through Amazon if you feel it’s 7-15%, it’s just over 15% for products like this using FBA and it’s more in the region of 18% if you don’t use FBA, you then have storage and warehouse picking and unloading charges as well as long term storage charges if you don’t sell the products quickly and they don’t do discount, they may sell lots of skinny tan on there but Amazon will be the only ones making money hence why you try and have a convincing website with slightly cheaper prices than Amazon to use it as advertising only, the problem is no one can deliver as quick as Amazon prime so customers just pay the Amazon price, now as for competition Molly Mae Filter has just launched its own self tan range which will no doubt be the go to brand of this summer coupled with the TV advertising it’s already out of stock on most sites, it’s a very fickle business this best left to those with big budget advertising, this had the chance to go big about four years ago and missed the boat imho dyor follow the share price that’s telling you the direction | csmwssk12hu

03/9/2021 09:46 | csmwssk12hu - I own a business that sells on Amazon amongst other channels. So I do know what I'm talking about. You sadly not so much. Amazon is a high volume & profitable route to market. Depending on the product, they take around 7-15% commission including payment processing. Agreed, first page Google ranking is also important. But to dismiss Amazon in the way you do just shows your ignorance I'm afraid. And because of that, I shan't be engaging further with you, as I'm clearly wasting my time. | lord loads of lolly

03/9/2021 08:10 | So you are after some self tan lotion, hmm where shall I start, I know let’s google self tan lotion and see what comes up, guess what none of the products from these, but there is a link from Amazon you can click on let’s see what’s available there then, guess what none of the products from these, if they want to sell anything they need to be on first page of google and at least the first page of Amazon and more ideally the first advert on Amazon, you would be amazed at the difference, most don’t go past the first advert let alone the first page. | csmwssk12hu
03/9/2021 08:05 | You clearly have never sold through Amazon if you think it’s high margin, it’s far from it, it’s the lowest margins you will get, there’s a reason why Amazon is so big, the best profits come from wholesale which is what they should have stuck to, as an example look at Unilever v Tesco, | csmwssk12hu
03/9/2021 07:48 | Amazon is just a shop front. They take a cut, but it's much less than any physical retailer takes. In the end, every unit sold online via Amazon will make the company more revenue and profit than any sold in any other channel other than DTC. My concern is more whether any volume will be sold through that route, but to see it as a negative is bonkers. | donald pond |
