dangreen86,

IND normally release a trading update around the end of July / start of August, fitting in with the end of their August 1st - July 31st financial year. No guarantees though, either that they'll release one in accordance with that normal pattern or that they won't release one earlier. Indeed, if their trading is either substantially above or substantially below expectations, regulations basically require them to let the market know as soon as they're reasonably certain about it - with quite a bit of wiggle room about what "substantially" and "expectations" mean, of course!

No I have held for five months, looking to hold for the long term, but decided to take profits and will look for entry when the market has calmed down. IND needs to have a good H2 to meet expectations, but there seems to be momentum behind the expansion of the sales team.

Out at 405p booking 25% profit, will be looking to get back in once markets settle down. The Simon Thompson effect seems to attract short term holders. Anyone know when the next trading update is? Will want to be in when that is released.

Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority Chooses IndigoVision

hxxp://www.indigovision.com/albuquerque-bernalillo-county-water-utility-authority-chooses-indigovision

Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA) has successfully deployed IndigoVision's IP Video Security Solution to help protect its 300-acre wastewater facility.

Two of the biggest security challenges faced by the Water Authority included perimeter monitoring of a wide geographical area of 300 acres and protection of multiple remote buildings with limited connectivity. Because of the sheer size of the facility, shrinkage had also become an issue with thieves cutting through the perimeter fence with no prevention due to limited security camera coverage. Funding for the project was made available to the Water Authority via a grant given by the Department of Homeland Security due to the high risk, residential location of the facility.

The Water Authority did have a small number of existing analogue cameras in place. However, the recording quality given by the existing Digital Video recorder (DVR) was poor and difficult to expand. In order to have a security system that would last at least ten years, and would work on an existing network infrastructure, the decision was made that the new security system had to be IP based.

The challenge was finding an IP security solution that could easily be deployed on an existing network over a wide geographical area, with no network bottlenecks. The solution also had to give smooth PTZ control, with high quality live and recorded video, from multiple viewing stations anywhere in the site. Finally the solution had to integrate with the existing analogue cameras, keeping new camera spend to a minimum.

After a careful selection process, IndigoVision's IP video security solution was chosen by the Water Authority due to meeting the stringent requirements, the extensive feature set offered and the lower total cost of ownership. The installation was carried out by IndigoVision's Albuquerque based partner, Security USA. In addition to IndigoVision IP Encoders being used to convert the existing analogue cameras IndigoVision IP Cameras were also deployed to monitor new areas within the site. Network Video Recorders (NVRs) were used to record video from both the IP cameras and encoders with IndigoVision's Control Center software being used to view, control and playback video evidence.

"We were really impressed with the quality of both live and recorded video from the IndigoVision solution." said David Montgomery, SCADA Manager for the Water Authority. "Not only can we now view the video in our main security control room, several additional members of the team can now access video, from anywhere in the site, on their laptops. With our previous system, this wasn't possible."

"Being able to deploy cameras easily in remote locations has given us better perimeter monitoring." David continued, "As a result, not only do we have a more secure site, we've reduced theft."

David concluded, "We've been so happy with the IndigoVision solution, and the work carried out by Security USA, that we are planning on expanding the installation to include operations monitoring such as using analytics to help monitor the water reclamation site."

IndigoVision is continuing investment in Germany with a major expansion of the sales team serving Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

Frank Mutzmann joins IndigoVision as Business Development Manager for Bavaria and Austria. Frank was previously Managing Director at Ippi, an IndigoVision partner based in Munich, where he had many successes with IndigoVision including project installations for the S-Bahn Munich and nine casinos in Bavaria. Previously Frank was with JVC in Berlin.

Udo Riederle joins IndigoVision as Business Development Manager adding to the already successful team in Germany. Udo will be serving accounts in Germany but will focus on accounts and business development in Switzerland. Udo, brings 15 years' experience in the DACH security industry, and was previously Sales Manager for DACH for NICE Systems.

"Germany and the DACH region are the key territory for IndigoVision in Europe," stated Jurgen Klijn, IndigoVision EMEA Regional Director. "These markets demand technical excellence and impeccable video quality. IndigoVision has been a leader in deploying networked video technology to the DACH market for several years. For many end users IndigoVision solutions are the preferred choice with excellent reference sites in cities, police, prisons, and commercial industries including prestige automotive brands."

"We have some of the best partners in the market and the existing sales team have had several years of success. We therefore wanted to get the best people possible to take sales in the region to the next level." continued Jurgen. "Frank and Udo are a perfect fit for IndigoVision bringing many years' experience in the networked video security in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets."

IndigoVision's IP encoders, IP cameras, networked video recorders and video management software have been deployed in projects throughout the DACH region.

Agreed bhoddhisattva about what most users do.

As regards what the best balance is for the IC between asserting their copyrights and getting free publicity, I quite simply don't feel either informed enough or competent enough to judge! About all I'm sure of is that there is such a balance, and that if I adhere to the legal fair-quoting-for-review standard, I'll stay on the right side of that balance...

Not that it matters much for me in the case of the IC - I'm not a subscriber and so am in no position to post excerpts from its subscriber-only content...

True Gengulphus and most people do make some kind of comment as well as posting an excerpt that they refer to or comment on.

The IC must get more web site traffic and potentially subscribers if their articles are linked to or highlighted so it's free publicity for them - so as long as one doesn't post the whole article, or even a substantial portion of it I doubt it does any harm ... and may do them some good.

Techinvest added a 3rd position to their Trader Portfolio in May. They highlight that IP based video security increasingly prevalent following the Boston Marathon tragedy. I cannot recall such an overweight position in a single stock in their portfolio ever!

Incidentally, they also have IND in their listed Tech Fund. Some vote of confidence then. Let's hope IND deliver

Motley Fool who are notoriousfor removing posts that infrineg copyright make th epoint that it is perfectly legal to posts a small exceerpt or a summary of an article in one's own words. What you can't - and should not do - is post the entire (or most of) the article.

The legalities about excerpts are actually a bit more restrictive than that: you're allowed to post a small excerpt for the purposes of reviewing or commenting on it. I.e. just posting the small excerpt on its own isn't OK - you've got to add some comments on your own. It's basically an exception made in copyright law to allow reviewers of books, plays, etc, to do their job without breaking the law...

Describing something in one's own words is always allowed - copyright is (as the word suggests) about copying... It's not intended to prevent people reporting events - and that includes events such as the IC recommending a share - just to prevent them piggybacking off other people's work in their choice of how to write the story.

By the way, I'm just saying what copyright law in fact says about the issue. Whether it ought to say more, or indeed less, is a much more difficult question that I don't pretend to have any clear answers to...

Well Spob, I am a paying subscriber and Simons tip was published at 1200 - as it is most weeks, but I didn't get an email to remind me to look at it until 1345. The person who posted a brief comment about the tip did so much earlier so I was able to read it an hour and a half sooner than I would otherwise.

You may not like it but it's an everyday thing and all he did was provide a snapshot. Would you seriously invest on the basis of that or want to read the article in full first?

I have full access to said articles, as and when released myself, however I would not post such articles on the day of release, because I am aware that other paying subscribers may be at work or for whatever reason away from their computer.

I know that to do so, on the day of publication, would be disrespectful to them.

Okay, so if you are a paying subscriber to a website such as the IC and you genuinely beleive that distributing such material, just 14 minutes after going live, has no effect.

Why would you then continue to do it for every single paid for article released by Simon Thompson of the investors Chronicle ?

Especially when you have been made aware that it is totally disrespectful to your fellow paying subscribers who may not as of yet had a chance to read the articles in question.

Nah, those guys are ignorant. The summary from IC is:

"both on fundamentals and from a technical perspective, I can see further share price upside. My six-month target price is 490p, which equates to a forward multiple of 12 times EPS estimates of 35.6p for the financial year to July 2014 net of an estimated year-end cash pile of £4.9m, or 66p a share."

Long story short, the revenue forecasts are rising and cash is flowing. This is expected to rise to 490 within 6 months.

P.S It's 100% worth the money of subscribing.
