06/4/2022 14:15 | Positive update, business as usual. | djderry
06/4/2022 12:55 | A positive share price response to IMB saying it is on track three weeks after last saying it is on track. The statement about debt reduction was a bit cryptic, saying net leverage has reduced y-o-y from 2.6 x to 2.4 x is opaque, we will have to wait until 17 May to read what this means in terms of actual net debt etc. No mention of buyback so Bomhard is sticking to his guns and getting the debt down further, for now anyway. Encouraged by the prospect of a Russian disposal, hopes for a resumption in the Ukraine, but it is all about the strategy of focus on 5 core markets apparently succeeding. Well done IMB, I think we can look forward to modest progress in the minor dividends when they are announced in May. | marktime1231
06/4/2022 12:15 | 'Surging interest rates push mortgage demand down more than 40% from a year ago' in the U.S.What happens there is a precursor for what normally happens here in the U.K Does anyone think buying property with rising interest rates is a good idea at the moment? Will house prices actually start falling? My nephew is looking to buy but i've told him to rent for another year.I hope i gave the right advice.I wish he hadn't asked now!!! If the lack of supply of houses for sale continues i think prices might carry on rising, but i'm convinced more houses will start coming to market now. | redbaron10
06/4/2022 12:07 | Possible recessions looming here and the U.S, with central banks having to raise interest rates to combat rising inflation.Remember when Yellen was raising interest rates at 25 to 50 basis points a year, now the talk is a minimum of 25 basis points, maybe even 50 basis points, at some FOMC monthly meetings.GDP growth is going to take a knock here and in the U.S. so high yield defensives are very much still in play.Nice market reaction to todays results.Certainly makes a change from all the price reversals we used to see with big tobacco on results day.Hopefully some broker upgrades will help with the share price here. | redbaron10
06/4/2022 09:50 | And up a decent amount on a pretty down day. Maybe the long overdue recovery can now start. | irenekent
06/4/2022 09:39 | IMB doing just fine, especially considering the current environment. Meanwhile still offering yield in excess of 8% | muscletrade
06/4/2022 09:11 | I read that and noted two things "at constant currency" "adjusted " Ok I know there are often reasons but the above caveats mean that lower profits/cash are not ruled out. | fenners66
06/4/2022 08:34 | Imperial Brands Sees 1st Half Adjusted Operating Profit Up 2%Source: Dow Jones NewsBy Jaime Llinares Taboada Imperial Brands PLC said Wednesday that its adjusted operating profit is expected to grow by around 2% on a constant currency basis in the first half of the fiscal year, and reaffirmed recently provided full-year guidance. The tobacco group said profitability for the half ended March 31 benefited primarily from reduced losses in next generation products. In addition, net revenue for the six-month period is expected to be broadly flat, in line with expectations, reflecting a weaker tobacco performance in Europe which was offset by growth elsewhere.Imperial Brands said it remains on track to deliver full-year results in line with guidance issued on March 15, with net revenue growth of 0%-1% on a constant currency basis and adjusted operating profit growth of around 1%.The company said it remains in talks with a local third party for the transfer of its assets and operations in Russia.spud | spud
05/4/2022 10:44 | In for a small amount today. Thinking is it should maintain a decent dividend and add a bit of capital growth too over time. | tuftymatt
31/3/2022 16:35 | If anybody hasn't watched the US webinar then I advise watching it. It is worth an hour or so of your time. | medieval blacksmith
31/3/2022 16:34 | I mentioned the write down pretty much as soon as the invasion happened and nobody seemed interested. OK, it might not be in the magnitude of solar panel business under Carillion - what a great textbook case that is - but as investors you would think at least three or four here would be interested in discussing it. Not so. | medieval blacksmith
31/3/2022 15:23 | I guess that deals with the trading side , but there could be an asset write down/write off as well. That would be a genuine (for once) exceptional cost and to some extent may be disregarded from the equation deciding dividends , but I guess will impact balance sheet. | fenners66
31/3/2022 15:10 | Monty - We have evaluated the financial impact of an exit from Russia and the previously announced suspension of operations in Ukraine on our full-year guidance for FY22. We now expect full-year constant currency net revenue growth of around 0-1 per cent. While there will be some ongoing costs related to the suspension in Ukraine, we expect a relatively small impact on our constant currency adjusted operating profit, reflecting the limited profit contribution of the two markets. In FY21, Russia and Ukraine represented in total around 2 per cent of net revenues and 0.5 per cent of adjusted operating profit. spud | spud
31/3/2022 14:14 | Will the hit on Russia hit the dividend going forward? | montyhedge
31/3/2022 13:42 | What is the Russian potential loss on IMB share price 300p? | 4spiel
31/3/2022 13:34 | It's the Russian thing that worries investors, they won't get top dollar if they sell any assets, probably more like a fire sale. | montyhedge
31/3/2022 13:00 | Just received a nice message from AJ Bell to tell me IMB has just deposited £4.6k divi in my account this morning. Nice. Salty | saltaire111
30/3/2022 20:45 | Nice to see so many others here say the same about Porsche. Bitter and twisted. Was obviously bullied at school, poor chap. | drew lonmenob
30/3/2022 20:43 | Good place to be with the coming recession. | f56
30/3/2022 11:36 | Did anyone catch this on the US webinar... Imperial Brands in the US convenience store channel sits within its top six suppliers. Pepsi, Coke, InBev and the other two US competitors (BAT/Altria). Additionally, over the previous year, Imperial Brand's growth outpaced that of Pepsi and Coke. | medieval blacksmith
29/3/2022 10:40 | Porsche, you clearly suffer from Tourette’s Syndrome as well as having mental health issues. Please seek professional help. | troy holton
28/3/2022 17:06 | I've had 924 filtered for about 3 years so if he's still bitter and twisted, I'm not being negatively tainted. I suggest all do likewise. spud | spud
28/3/2022 17:03 | I am more than happy to stand side by side with Spud as I am sure will many others on these sites, especially against the negative, bitter (ie nasty),antagonistic and pessimistic individual Porsche. You need to get a life of sorts - I believe a proper integrated life with others may be impossible for you but do try. You may even like being accepted. | scobak |
