Iconic Labs – is it suspension ahoy?
Iconic Labs (ICON) yesterday announced that it was changing its auditor on 24 October 2023 as follows:

It applies to new and existing listings because the FCA are planning to abolish the Premium and Standard listing and replace it with a Single Listing Segment.



"Single listing segment — The current standard and premium listing segments for shares in commercial companies would be replaced with a single listing category with a single set of requirements."

city1911. The new rule came into effect in December 2021 but there were many companies on the standard listing with market caps much lower than £30 million. A grace period was given and its my understanding the FCA will start removing such companies by the end of this year.



"Increasing the minimum market capitalisation (MMC) threshold for both the premium and standard listing segments for shares in ordinary commercial companies from £700,000 to £30 million. Raising the MMC will give investors greater trust and clarity about the types of company with shares admitted to different markets."

RNS 24/10/2023 - "Nordens Audit Limited (Nordens) has ceased to be the Company's Auditor as it has not yet been able to obtain its registration as an auditor eligible to undertake Public Interest Entity audits."

Nordens does not require registration to audit ICON as ICON is too small to fall under the Public Interest Entity regulations.



"Having considered the views of consultation respondents, the Government intends to treat large private companies with both 750+ employees and an annual turnover of £750m+ as public interest entities (PIEs). Companies traded on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) or other multilateral trading facilities will be PIEs if they meet this 750:750 test, but smaller companies on those markets will not become PIEs."
