20/11/2020 09:01 | "bearnecessities33 20 Nov '20 - 08:41 - 21178 of 21179 0 2 0 Until there are sufficient and viable alternatives to O&G globally, it is here to stay regardless of price, IMO, I guess only time will tell." -- The alternatives to oil and gas are here. Tell me what processes can't be done with electricity and hydrogen that require oil and gas. It just needs government to stop giving tax breaks and other support to the oil/gas industry and to start supporting the alternatives, which is exactly what governments are going to do. Even middle east oil producers are going green! from link below " 6. UPCOMING DEVELOPMENTS The second half of the 2020s is likely to see the emergence of a regional hydrogen economy in the Middle East, driven by heavyweight frontrunners such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. If initial investments in renewable energies continue to be made in the region, to a level sufficient enough to generate economies of scale, coupled with an appropriate transport infrastructure, the first player to make a move will generate a lock-in in terms of customer retention. 20/11/2020 08:34 | bearnecessities33 If things return to pre-Covid and we have a massive energy supply deficit, that will make hydrocarbons even more expensive. Nations near bankruptcy because of Covid will use the cheapest form of energy, the cheapest option will win, it's basic economics. The non stop importing of oil and gas by nations is far more expensive than local production of renewable energy. Money is currently cheap for large capital projects like wind farms. Nations can't afford the endless flow of money leaving their pockets for someone else's oil and gas, far cheaper to pay the very low interest rates for money spent on large capital projects (which also support local employment). By the way that includes renewable storage for base load support, such as flow batteries and Hydrogen. | hyper al
20/11/2020 08:15 | IMO, until there are viable alternatives for O&G, it is here to stay for sometime, wether we like it or not, and personally, post COVID-19 as global demand grows/spikes, I see a massive energy supply deficit which may bring back a super cycle for oil for sometime, IMOO, DYOR. | bearnecessities33
20/11/2020 07:53 | bearnecessities33 Some people just don't get it! "The Covid-19 pandemic has driven major oil producers to invest in new technologies and renewable alternatives sooner than anticipated to keep up with market trends." It is NOT just a 'market trend' it's a permanent transition away from oil and gas, shareholders and their funds are putting pressure on the listed companies. Governments will put pressure on the independents. Tell me this, what will the independents do when governments stop handing out oil exploration and extraction licences, expect that news VERY SOON, particularly on the exploration front here in the UK. In the USA Biden will do that immediately for all federal land. Even nations currently powered by oil revenue are turning to renewables. Investing in independent Hydrogen producers IMHO will outperform any independent oil producer. Just look at ITM for starters. Wise investors see the transition and create the trends. They don't ignore change and stick with old tech. | hyper al

19/11/2020 13:15 | Leoneobull "Tournesol. Hur up 5% time to get back in." Really? I am afraid I regard Hur as uninvestable - it's little more than a lottery ticket stock now. I'm still watching Hur and still reading this board but my energy and my money is elsewhere. Are you following any of the investment stocks I mentioned in my recent post? Fort = +18% Phnx = +11% Som = +21% today alone Sdry = +15% Bez = +15% And all have a lot more upside still to come. And there is a raft of prefs and bonds and REITs delivering solid yields of 6-9% | tournesol
