Oil is an international commodity so priced in a world market, it is just quoted in dollars so if the dollar weakens then the oil price in dollars should rise so that the oil price in other currencies will remain the same. There will be some downward pressure if the dollar weakens but it should not be that great. | puffintickler | |
07/11/2016 11:08 | Wbodger: yes indeed.. i did my calcs using the new amount of shs too.. i havent read that wsawatch post as i have him on filter... imo, if clinton gets in, we continue as normal. if trump gets in, imo there'll be a brexit similar style selloff but then resume usual natural course. the global/usa/uk macros will naturally drive the indices, the volatility will just be the traders and fear/initial short term reaction... lets put it this way, if trump got in, i dont seee how that devalued or adds risk to HUR... also, some say the usdollar will sell off if he got in, but oil typically strengthens on a weak dollar... food for thought :-) | leeson31 | |
