15/2/2005 23:18 | Falling back now, does somebody know something??? | warranty
08/2/2005 08:25 | nothing's changed since my post 46, except the nice little story about hwy being over-reserved - these insurance "bids" take forever - look at cox. | ursus
08/2/2005 08:08 | worthwhile dividend just 6 weeks away. probable takeover + sector rating improvements. got to hold for a while yet. | jhan66
07/2/2005 20:37 | Eipgam Yes all quiet on here - forcing people to sell through boredom I think. Though personally feel its the lull before the storm... To form a golden cross, the 50 day moving average must cross from below the 200 day MA to above the 200 day MA, whilst the 200 day MA must also be rising (Charting bullish indicator). Though not so sure it really applies to bid situations causing the rise, but it sure makes the charts look good...Am looking for a spike to the upside here soon, reckon some news will soon be forthcoming. Staying long for a while yet. | tole
07/2/2005 20:14 | Tole... I agree, 50p doesn't seem too much to ask! It's strange how you get a big announcement about a poss bid and then total silence for a whole month and nothing much happening to the share price either (after the initial rise, that is)..... A2etc.... What on earth is a golden X? | eipgam
07/2/2005 12:23 | Is that a Golden X I see on the above chart?.......if it is...... | a2336418

12/1/2005 14:47 | my take on the takeover..... "a number of parties who have expressed an interest..." in the RNS must mean 3 or more. the newspapers have so far mentioned chaucer and i think fortis as two possibles, and neither has denied it so far as i can see. there must be others, i think. i suspect that the present share price - hovering either side of 40p - is at or about any price indication given so far by a bidder. and i seem to remember that 40p was at or about what cox was in principle prepared to pay 6 mths ago. so it is wise to be cautious abt the prospects for a much higher price. but that said, there are good reasons for believing that some more will be offered - a) the ntav in last a/cs is 32p, and this yrs profits will increase it to say 34-5p b) the current cox bid must be at or abt the current share price - ie 90p, and cox's ntav is 38-40p c) the motor market remains strong, and will not reduce prem's significantly - see admiral's trading s/m today. d) hwy is out of line with its comparators on valuation grounds even at the current price. so my guess is that the offers will slowly seep in, and i expect 45-50p. with the price underpinned by a strong yield and the prospect of further bid interest even if this round flops, it is a reasonable arbitrage opportunity -- buy now, get divi then sell to bidder! | ursus
11/1/2005 20:47 | I would say more likely to be 54-58p. | topinfo
11/1/2005 12:12 | should get a better offer this time around than what was being dangled around last time. I think 48p-52p per share would be about right. | factsonly
10/1/2005 22:02 | Very quiet on here for a stock in takeover talks...anyone else got an interest in this stock.? | topinfo
07/1/2005 22:47 | Should possibly see update in papers over weekend, maybe in the Times as it was them that quoted it last weekend. | topinfo
07/1/2005 14:05 | looks undervalued on fundamentals. Should be worth a punt and hold even in the absence of bids or bid rumours . | harvester
06/1/2005 14:30 | Mirroring rise last March on rumour of deal with Cox. Guessing stays around 40p till more on "bid". If rumour peters out reckon back to 34ish. | eithin
06/1/2005 13:59 | In for 10k of these, they look very cheap and cant see them letting this company go cheap given low P/E..60p plus would be something like the price needed to tempt it into hands of predator.Looks like possible 50% upside even after news of takeover released. | topinfo
05/1/2005 12:21 | I have not "invested" (speculated?) in small tiddlers for a while but the Sunday Times article alerted me to this and it looked a little gem not to be missed. So tipped my toe in and bought 10K for March expiry by spreadbet @ 37. So far so good. Looks promising . | harvester
05/1/2005 11:41 | Great piece of research on HWY by equity research thanks for the info tacman. With being tipped by Sunday times & potential bid the only way is up. Just bought 5006 shares for 39.45p. Good luck everyone. | superdonkey

05/1/2005 02:04 | Well well well, first takeover speculation share of 2005 that I have, got them months ago for the excellent reasons outlined in the header. Not much seems to move them though so not expecting a lot of tick-up as a result of that rns, speculate maybe an extra 2p. If so might add. ps a personal bugbear, why do some posters add dyor to their posts, it's patronising and annoying. (it annoys me anyhow) Personally I couldn't care less whether anyone does any research or not, it's none of my business, it's their money. Anyway off my soapbox now. dyor lol | alansmith23 |
