14/1/2009 09:54 | Shorts are supposed to be closed today. In fact in the offer document it says they have to be. I think the difference is that if you have a short for a 1000 and you try and settle it tomorrow it would be ruled out of court. However the institutions are short of over 100,000,000 shares and they will just be allowed to run it on with the new company. It is just so wrong. | poacher45
14/1/2009 09:34 | How do you know if any shorts are still open. I would have thought they would have closed them last week when the share price dropped, not now when share price is high, unless they have no brain. | freedom97
14/1/2009 09:29 | I'm not so sure that shorts have to close, i suspect they would convert pro-rata to lloy holdings. | propane
14/1/2009 09:23 | I'm guessing that shorts wont close until after the end of today therefore not effecting the share price So what will the new merged co. share price be relative 2 lloyds SP? | cool hand kev

13/1/2009 23:32 | Two questions (sorry if they have already been asked 1000 times before but I have'nt been following the chit chat):- 1) Are there any significant shorts left? 2) Will they have to be closed tomorrow to avoid losing on the whole deal during the conversion process? TIA | irpy
13/1/2009 18:46 | Rock shareholders demand payback Lord Pannick, who is acting for SRM Global, said that if the government really believed its own valuation of the firm, it should justify it to the valuation expert. The hearing is expected to last more than three days. The three-and-a-half-day hearing in the High Court in London will last until Friday. A final decision is expected in about six weeks. | k38

13/1/2009 12:33 | Tomorrow, is the last day for dealing in HBOS shares, so it seems a bit risky to buy HBOS shares at current price because if Lloyds tanks Thurs or Fri., come Monday hbos holders who buy at current price might be sitting on a loss with the new lloyds shares. Then again if Lloyds rally Thurs/Fri then they will gain. Am I right that only HBOS dealing stops at close tomorrow? | freedom97
