Question for anyone in the know?
When does the government actualy purchase the shares that the shareholders did not take up in the recent offer?.Also what effect if any, will this government purchase (I understand to be at £1.13 or there abouts )have on the share price?.

Unicorn is it not the other way round, just did a few searches

HBOS shares will cease trading tomorrow and investors in the bank will be given 0.605 shares in LBG for every HBOS one they own. LBG shares will begin trading next Monday. Edinburgh's High Court rubber stamped the tie-up yesterday.

Its 0.605 LLOY for 1 HBOS (eg 1000 HBOS shares will convert to 605 LLOY shares)

hbos converts to lloy on the 16th getting 1 lloy for 0.605 hbos, i think they're converted ready for monday open

I reckon Barclays woes, Citigroup figures and more bad news for the US, more madoffs coming out of the far east and India ... shall I go on? THe whole financial world is in collapse and there is no confidence in any of them. Also HSBC is about to go to shareholders for more billions!!

HSBC Holdings is likely to halve its dividend and may need to raise up to $30 billion in a rights issue, according to leading analysts, sending shares in Europe's biggest bank skidding on Wednesday.
