simon when the shorters were exposed and it all hit the fan it turned out that members of the conservative party had shorts and other banks.I would summise they are all helping each other.[some say the laabour party were at it too]

1st keep lloy subdued while they buy back Hbos[its eerily stuck in trading range] and hbos will go nowhere untill lloy moves.
2nd close shorts lloy
3rd allow something to hit the media to bring both sps nearer to HMG prices before they merge to save face.

AND ALL IN 2 WEEKS !!!

I have concerns for hbos, lloy and rbs, im bothered that the ftse is at 4400 and all the banks are at the YTD lows ?, if the ftse was around 4000 then I would be fine, but financials are tradtionally the stocks that lead any rallies, so why aren't these banks involved in this rally?

im in- but with tighter stop losses

[maybe a ploy to keep price down as shorters close]

My thoughts exactly.
