hard to believe they could just go on a monumental buying spree, scoop up all those tyre centres at the multiples of premiums and then everything is going to be bright and rosy.

I bet there will be years of skeletons in the cupboards to emerge, could be very painful for share price imo

Anyone can buy profits (1), just like anyone can buy losses (2)! "Skilled" business men can buy profits (but at a premium) (3), but only true entrepreneurs can buy profits at a discount (4)!

Which one of the four did Halfords gold plated salary and pension protected "circuit style" CEO and board choose for you ?

No RNS out today to confirm or deny rumour speculations? So business as usual then today.Awaiting half year results unless the potential suitor wants to make it a hostile takeover.Watch out!

Like I've said before, this should be treated like a growth stock with it's excellent program of growth in place, and going well. Last update was encouraging.

It's my biggest holding and £2.70 would be a tad disappointing, having previously sold at £3:80+.
Would be sad to see HFD taken over, it's a great stock to trade.

So that is why they have set the announcement back.Gives them time to announce their is bid and we have declined.Or their is no bid at all.Or there is a bid and we are in talks. Then once that's all over they can just announce a good set of results in the 29-10-23.

www.sharecast.com/news/news-and-announcements/halfords-surges-on-takeover-speculation--14948688.html

Halfords shares surged on Thursday after markets blog Betaville reported in one of its 'uncooked alerts’ that the motoring and cycling products retailer was at the centre of takeover speculation.
Citing people following the situation, Betaville said that over the last few months Halfords had received an approach from a mystery party.
The latest indicative approach was rumoured to have been pitched at around 270p a share but that was rejected by the company. Since then, another suitor was said to have begun to show an interest in buying Halfords.
However, it's not clear whether Halfords is still in live discussions with either bidder, sources said.
At 1535 BST, the shares were up 15% at 210.20p.

It's not a rumour.I hear they have had 2 potential offers from 2 interested parties?Every metric of their operations seems to be in growth phase bar cycle sales.Which is irrelevant in the future.Their E-commerce supply platform has been vastly underestimated and a big needs to be in the 365-390 arena.Getting interesting?
