You wouldn't add up several forward years of electricity and gas bills

and then include that as debt

it is just accounting nonsense

You wouldn't add up several years of future employee wages

and then include that as debt would you

that would also be stupid

You are including lease liabilities

which is basically the same as several years of forward rent on their properties

rent is a normal cost of doing business

total debt excluding leases is 2m

Halfords full-year like-for-like revenues grew 2.4% to £1.6bn, with growth in Autocenters more than offsetting a decline in Retail.

Underlying operating profit fell 37.1% to £63.6m as inflation and acquisitions pushed costs higher.

Free cash flow was £3.1m compared to an outflow of £14.9m last year. Net debt remained broadly flat year-on-year at £348.7m.

Halfords said that trading in the current year has been good and expects underlying pre-tax profits of around £53.3m, up from £43.5m last year. The group's expected to end the year with a small net cash position, with cash generation weighted towards the second half.

"Free Cash Flow of GBP3.1m (FY22: -GBP14.9m) was generated in the year. Group Debt was GBP348.7m (FY22: GBP344.9m)."

Where do you get the £2 million from?

Progressive dividend up 11% with a 5% yield. But the debt looks a little high for me.

I would like to see the debt reduce over the next few years while continuing to increase the dividend.

Profit warning? Supporting customers through cost of living problems ie. not able to support shareholders through the same problems.

Pity they can't get the results text to wrap around the page width. Amateurish at best.

Great results. It proves my point that HFD are now a growth stock and ready for another big bounce.

For a business that has a virtual monopoly on car parts, a large share of the cycling market, these shares seem undervalued on a pe of 5.

I have had a few shares where the auditing took longer and the shares dropped and it turned out to be no problem

A lot of auditing work is taking longer, after the recent fines they may actually be doing their job properly rather than just signing off and pocketing the saving in man-hours.
