From the Daily Mail market report,
According to Oriel retail analyst Jonathan Pritchard, cycle-mania still grips the UK. That's why he is has upgraded his earnings forecast for Halfords (2.6p better at 474.5p) three months before interims.

He believes trading has been unusually strong on the back of the Tour de France and perfect UK weather conditions and expects a 25 per cent rise in like-for-like cycle sales in the second-quarter.

The Monday morning jump was on the back of Sunday papers' tip, but this one is more on the basis of fundamentals.

Buy shares of Halfords to capitalise on the UK's retail recovery and the growing craze for cycling, Questor advised in the Sunday Telegraph. The shares have risen about 60% since Questor recommended them in early October 2013 but have gone sideways in the past month. The Tour de France has boosted cycle sales and the company has consolidated its position in the bike market by buying out the successful Boardman cycle brand last month. Its car maintenance business is also improving.
