I have been a holder since £1.07, a good time ago. Over the years I added to 20,000 shares, all below £4.00. I have admired the posts of Fest, Mylands, Woody and Spractive. Long termers who formed a view and stuck to it. There were bumps on the way, but here we are looking at £10. WOW. Do I wish I bought more, No. My strategy was to have GVC at no more than 15% of my holding. Others took a different view and went long and heavy. I admire Fest for taking a view and selling out. There was an old addage of leaving some profit for the buyer. Fest looks to have done that, so well done on a clean cut exit. Now that I am older, I look forward to the day when GVC is seen as a rock solid Dividend Champion. We holders know it is, others will catch on soon enough. Good Luck to all.

There's never a 'Right time to sell' or 'Right time Buy', it when the investor feels he or she's happy to take profits or reduce loss.

Just noticed that today, in value terms, we have turned over the same as mighty BP. How times have changed!

Fest

Exactly and well done.

Over the years I have rolled a few, itv, ezj, rtd,
and many more, have not done this with hgm or gvc
due to massive dividends on roi, dyor

Wonderful thread and a great bunch of posters, some
short most long, keep it all up boys and girls.

FestI'm no expert on graphene but I'm watching closely. You well know what AIM shares are like......I'm a QFI survivor........I now wait till revenue is clearly in sight You can always rely on the MM's to mess about with the share price until then. BIT of a delay... contract not signed etc......any excuse for a tree shake.

Ha ha, Kop. Yes, I really need your pity.... selling down 55k shares at around 930p average (that I bought for a zero average due to 7 years of dividends). To plough into VRS which has already 6 bagged on my original purchases. It's a four bagger on my overall average there. Both you and my wife seem to have missed the crucial point, we are here to grow our total wealth, not hang on to our beloved GVC.I love GVC, but as an investment it had matured in my opinion, and VRS is just getting started. If you feel that sorry for me Kop, why don't you hold a telethon appeal ... ??

With the share price continuing to climb, I can smell the burning flesh of the shorters as they get well and truly roasted!

Cheap imo...given its scale post acquisition, global market size, potential for margin improvement, the possibility of the US opening up..(although I am not holding out much hope here)....etc.20x earning would be fair imo.

Popper

That's cheap for a company that is growing exponentially. 888 are currently on 19.65

What's been particularly enjoyable about today is that it's Lads div record date and the price has popped up!

I would tend to the cheap, given the execution risks of the acquisition, but then again management are excellent here.

So at 11 x earnings, did you conclude that it was cheap or very cheap?

It will be interesting what forecasts brokers come out with for the combined unit.My back of the envelope calculation, just adding up the individual forecasts, ignoring the positive effect of synergies and the negative effect of the discontinued businesses, suggests eps of 83p for 2018.That puts the shares on 11x earnings at the current price.Very approximate I know but gives me a feeling about whether the stock is cheap or very cheap lol....

Interesting to see how much the short position stands at when it amalgamates as it will illustrate how many are short based on conviction vs the short interest that forms part of an arbitrage trade

After these results,40 percent increase in ebitda and momentum and track record of integration I would be worried if I was short.
