16/2/2018 16:27 | Good to see us back up above 900p, that will 'please' Woodhawk and the shorters! I see the year-end results will be posted on March 9th. | mylands

15/2/2018 15:09 | They 100% will be long Lads as part of their arbitrage strategy. IMO this is the sole reason for such large current short holdings in GVC. When Lads convert to GVC they will close the GVC short with those shares. | noujay
15/2/2018 15:07 | Interested to know if some of the GVC shorters are long Lads. A good hedge for Lads holders that will unwind post deal completion. | brownie69

14/2/2018 16:22 | Popper Joe Sorry about the delay in posting the major shorters and their share holdings. Normal service will be resumed shortly! According to my analysis there are 15 holders of short position of 0.3% or greater, totalling 11.8%. The largest is Societe Generale with 1.9% and coming up fast behind them is Sand Grove Capital with 1.4%. Sand Grove have been increasing their position almost daily. Today they added another 280,000, making a total of 4.22 million.Only three of the 15 have sizeable share holdings, Barclays, Man Group and JP Morgan. The rest have either zero or a negiligible amount of shares. | mylands

14/2/2018 12:12 | Srp - thanks! Slippy had a short on GVC at 600 or so and a long on PTEC at 950. Wrong on both counts - we won’t see him again. Given the institutional support for GVC I can’t see the merger failing. The share price always seems to fluctuate during these take overs - once complete normal service should resume. Especially since KA claims online betting will double in 4 years. Not set in stone but indicative of a growing sector. Great in these times. | cheshiremoggie
14/2/2018 11:56 | I agree. Looks very cheap | shaker44
14/2/2018 11:35 | PTEC looks good value these days. | festario

14/2/2018 09:48 | Has Slippy turned up there yet? | popper joe
14/2/2018 09:10 | One thing I'm looking forward to is when all the posters on the LCL board join us over here. It's positively pulsating with excitement over the merger - I can barely keep up with the action over there. | cheshiremoggie
13/2/2018 11:33 | Popper Joe Will do when I have access to my PC later today. | mylands
13/2/2018 10:45 | There is probably an element of covering there long position in either LADS or GVC whilst there is any uncertainty. Mylands may be able to tell us if any of those who are currently shorting actually also have declared holdings? | popper joe
13/2/2018 10:20 | But why though.Do these shorters think the merger will not happen? | nurdin
13/2/2018 08:21 | Continuing downward pressure on the share price Take yesterday for example, a nice spike up first thing in response to the afterhours LCL trading update and then a drift back down during the day and then this morning brings us back to virtually where we were at the close on Friday. Also, the short poistions are growing. According to Castellain Capital's short tracker, these now total 6.6%, the highest I have seen it, and this figure does not include positions below 0.5%.My own figure taken from the 8.3 Forms being announced daily is considerably higher, in excess of 10%. | mylands
12/2/2018 10:19 | mylands - re your post 28979. Yes, that is how I read it re ongoing dividends. As per my previous post 28962, there appears to be protection for the lenders within the facilites agreement that would prevent GVC from paying a dividend if certain 'regulatory breaches' occur and remain unresolved. Would be interesting to know what these breaches comprised but in essence I see nothing that prevents GVC from continuing to pay a progressive dividend as per the stated Dividend Policy within the Propsectus (see post 28957). "The Existing Facilities Agreement also contains protections for the lenders that will apply to certain regulatory breaches of the Combined Group that have been outstanding for a certain period of time, the effect of which is that GVC will be restricted from making dividends, and the excess cash flow sweep percentage will be increased from 25 per cent. to 100 per cent., for so long as such breaches are not cured." | speedsgh
12/2/2018 09:34 | Myland's your post 28970... thank you for that. I could not find anything definitive about dividend declarations. Do we assume that a definitive declaration of dividend amount will only be made with the full year prelims on 9 March in that case? | sogoesit
12/2/2018 09:00 | The only reason we had a div holiday when the BWIN takeover went ahead was the condition Cerberus imposed for their E400 million loan to finance the deal, that no divs were paid until it was repaid. Nomura provided the re-financing in Feb 2016. This time there are no such pre-conditions. I do not expect any div holiday. | mylands
10/2/2018 20:32 | Talk of turning a lot of brown field sites in towns being turned into one bedroom flats, more people near the bookies more chance of customers, dyor. | srpactive
10/2/2018 18:49 | I am very confident dividends will continue to be paid. The new business will still be throwing off cash.Do not underestimate the cost savings but also the economies of scale from the new reach and cross selling | trentendboy |
