He also revealed plans for an agreement with the KRG and the Iraqi government to sell Kurdistan’s oil through the Iraqi State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO). Caggins stated that SOMO would oversee transactions at Turkey's Ceyhan port and emphasized that new agreements must involve the companies, the KRG, and the Iraqi government. He also mentioned that they are awaiting a draft from both governments to establish a clear plan for resuming Kurdistan’s oil exports.

Its early days and Contracts take time to write.

They also have BP expecting the pipeline opened by February and fully operational. Which will take weeks beforehand. You dont just start 100% full production with any pipeline never mind one that has allegedly had weld repairs and wells have to be brought on line slowly to prevent reservoir damage.

My apologies. Upon closer inspection it looks like a rebadged interview from mid November after they announced the intention to read at parliament. Apologies for the unwarranted pessimism. I still think the vote will pass through uneventfully. It's the bit after which I hope they're working furiously to sort out in background so things can motor after the parliament votes it through.

If you look on x, there are statements from Apikur. Not saying much but by implication, no further forward and want it known. No draft contracts which would be fairly standard if you'd actually like to progress quickly imo.
Agreed, vote will still take place next week as nothing to contradict the initial statements.

Unless I missed something, I still haven't seen anything that the vote next week will definitely not take place...

Nor have I seen any statements from apikur today...

Habshan, the company will be providing an ops update in Dec and they will be updating us on the status of the 'buyback' programme or lack thereof apparently.
Fairly disappointed with the statements coming from Apikur today. Seems like they haven't even been issued draft paperwork which makes me think this will have a bit further to run than I thought.

Historically we get an Operational and Corporate update in the middle of December or a bit over two weeks from now.

Hopefully it will include the usual production numbers realised prices and the status of PF-1 along with a briefing on the shenanigans surrounding the contract situation.

Fingers crossed that by that time the amendment will have been passed and they'll be in the phase of negotiating with the Consultant over the costs of production.

As Caggins said, "We can see light at the end of the tunnel".

Although that phrase went straight over the heads of the two Rudaw TV hosts that were interviewing him.

Profits/profitability not peak oil are what count here as they determine value and thus the share price

nestoframpers. I look in on Rick Rules videos occasionally and he has an interesting view on oil, he says that the predictions of peak oil usage being in a couple of years are wrong and actually it's going to be another good 15 years before oil demand truly peaks because of lack of investment, okay Trump will counter some of that, but as the oil price drops again investment will drop too.

"You mean the Semi-Autonomous Region of IRAQ commonly referred to as Kurdistan - don't you?"

Yes Broadford that's exactly where I mean.

The place where you said that Baghdad were going to "sequester" the pumping station at Fishkabour by having their army attack Kurdistan and take it over so that they could pump their oil through the ITP to Ceyhan.

It's now 2 years since you said that was going to happen Broadford, and that totally idiotic prediction never happened did it, and only a complete idiot would have suggested it in the first place.

And in those two years Baghdad have been absolutely powerless to send one single drop of oil through that pipeline because the Kurds and APIKUR have said no.

They have now decided that their only option is to cede to APIKUR's demands, which due to the legality of the contracts was always the only option available to them. Failure to meet the commercial terms of the PSCs will mean the possibility of arbitration and absolutely colossal compensation claims should an IOC decide to go down that route, Baghdad cannot win.

Next September the ITP agreement expires and Baghdad will have no say in any new agreement or how the pipeline is used unless they negotiate with Turkey and the Kurds and they can have no access to or through Kurdish territory without a deal with the KRG.

If as you seem to think, Baghdad can just access Kurdish territory and pump oil through it at will then why aren't they doing it.

There will be no Iraqi oil flowing through Kurdistan to Turkey until Kurdish oil can flow as well, and at the moment that decision lies with APIKUR.

That's incorrect SS.The deal will be agreed long since subject to the precedents and conditionality of the sales implementation agreement......The actual sale announcement is a formality, it is announced and completed by short form amalgamation by way of an SGM that us called 2/3 weeks after announcement.Insiders will already have given their irrevocable agreement to vote it through.

"..they can't use because it goes through Kurdistan."

You mean the Semi-Autonomous Region of IRAQ commonly referred to as Kurdistan - don't you?

Last I heard, the Kurdish area had still not achieved independence and, until that happens (if ever), it is still subject to the laws of Iraq and some of these laws are in the process of re-interpretation.

The control issue is one that suits Baghdad at the moment; unless of course you mean starving yourself (company ) of funds and leading to a slow and inevitable demise? That $100M in the bank won't go very far....

The Ceyhan pipeline will not be reopened unless it's on terms that suit Baghdad, not now and not come Sept-25 either.
