For years, the mantra was “it’s all about the payments”.
Clearly that has been overwhelmed by “Worrabout the pipeline”, then the payments.
Forget a takeover, merger, minor short position adjustments and dreamers’ local sales profits.
There will be no long term future for us until Ceyhan gets the black stuff oozing through the desert pipeline.
I note that even Doggy is now ramping up the speculation with suggestions of a share price spike or company merger. I’ve long suspected that he is one of us- a gullible sucker.
I’m holding 180k shares. I’m not Doggy but I agree with his sentiments, albeit expressed in such unsympathetic terms.
My view continues to be that Baghdad will decide when to release the stranglehold on the Kurd exports. In the meantime we must be patient and rely on life support through the local sales. And wait.

KRI do their own oil deals they will not be giving China 30% discount , as it ever was only now SOMO sell the oil for KRI. Time and money spent on DD is peanuts compared to all the oil, what is surprising about the Chinese study is that it was made public.

Iraq giving 30% discount when they were very mean TSCs is crazy . Just offer a decent PSC and the MOCs will want in. A increase from 100K blls to 150 K blls a day to China is small beer for Iraq.

Well if they want investors back they need to stop screwing around with the Kurds .
Get that pipeline open and get the HCL passed in law. Then they have a chance.

I do think that USA is hell bent on securing it's energy supply control even if it has to bomb countries and blow up competitors pipelines to get it, as it is exponentially showing. This is the main driving factor in the conflicts in the west. Green energy is not going to cut mustard.

Most of it was going to the EU. I cant see that stopping.

Surely Kurdy/Shaikan oil will be exported to Europe, unless that pipeline will become defunct?

PT, good question but I think it's maybe because china/ Russia are already planning/ building new infrastructure in the country.
I don't know the economics of it!

Shortsq. I don't think that USA will like this alliance with china and russia. But how can any middle east, or indeed any country trust the war mongerers.

I dont see how it can be anyone else TBH. Considering the time and money they have already spent on due diligence. Maybe that will be part of the final agreement on the pipeline and HCL. IMO

Interesting that the big players are closing shorts now.

An interesting and eye opening read:A key part of both deals is that China has first refusal on all oil, gas, and petrochemicals projects that come up in Iraq for the duration of the deal, and that it is given at least a 30 percent discount on all oil, gas, and petrochemicals it buys. https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Iraq-Moves-Further-Out-Of-USs-Influence-With-New-Russia-And-China-Deals.html
