GKP will always have a risk discount attached, its rather a special case. If it were onshore North America we would be multiples of todays price, but its not and so the risk factor is high.

The free cashflow is the attraction, the dividends the payback for shareholders but also that free cashflow is the attraction for bidders. With the coming FDP and once approved, the cash spend to achieve it, there will come a point where the cash in the hand now becomes more attractive than wait and wait for bigger better dividends in future. I am sure thats why Blackrock have an opening position, with which they gain influence and may be then lining up a takeover offer by some entity they may be engaged with.

I think I would rather hold for the dividends if that was all an offer would be. I was holding GLO when a 33% premium was made to the share price Ended up selling in the market at just under the offer price. Was only holding them for 3 days.

Also been holding Petroteq for over a year. Been under offer for 9 months with 5 extensions. Offer is currently 4 x the current share price which is bonkers. Closes in 6 weeks if it actually does

In regards to GKP I have seen some massive premiums to share price banded around. To achieve a small premium the offeror may need to be holding 50% plus before making the offer. This was the case with GLO but PQE is or was hostile hence the larger premium.

Whilst some may have very high expectations, I would expect any takeover to be around 450p to 500p per share levels. Thats imo.

That still represents a near doubling from current prices, and the longer GKP keeps paying dividends, the more your initial investment is paid for and your holding moves more into "free carry".........

Bigdog - "Or they're concerned about the time it will take for the gas flaring to be sorted?"

No. You're miles behind again Sarah, try to keep up ffs.

Jon Harris 4 months ago:-

"We are currently out tendering for a contractor to come in and take our flared gas and re-inject it into the reservoir."

The reasons for the delay in FDP approval are as follows, you've already been told 4 times:-

Jon Harris - " While final timing of approval remains uncertain due to the complexity of the project,..."

Esa Ikaheimonen CFO Genel - "The other thing I should mention is to do with the MNR lacking resources, so the time it takes to do sensible business development, the time it takes to get from an idea to execution is a frustration."

So there you go, the complexity of the proposal and an under resourced MNR to evaluate it.

You just haven't a clue how things work in these places have you.

Yes FE11 the FDP is taking a very long time to get the green light especially as h7 said it was agreed last October.

Is that because the hosts don't like what they've been presented with again?
Or they don't believe it can be achieved?
Or they're concerned about the time it will take for the gas flaring to be sorted?
Or they're concerned about what Baghdad will do next?
Or they're waiting for someone to buy the field?
Or they're going to take back the licence?
Or they're expecting Baghdad to cancel the PSC's?
Or they're consolidating several companies into their KROC?

I note that pro wants his own bb so he can play at being a dictator, what a sad schmuck they are. Just like old johnyboy did back in the day. So hurtful and ungrateful for all my assistance:-)
