C'mon, Pro. You don't need to resort to this:Iraq (not Kurdistan) offtake facilities are at the limit and likely to breakdown at any time, or there will be political upheaval which causes supply reduction.

No..its a plus point as it will, at any moment, push the price of oil up quite considerably.

There are a number of events which could trigger a serious oil price increase......the top two are.......

Hurricane season gets into "peak" from mid August to mid October.

Iraq (not Kurdistan) offtake facilities are at the limit and likely to breakdown at any time, or there will be political upheaval which causes supply reduction.

Its not a big concern for us GKP Investors tho is it ?
The OP is going to go up in any case due to lack of investment over the past 5 years.
All of which is good for Kurdistan and GKP.

Yes, of course Basrah will not affect Kurdistan production.

On a global level though, Iraq (not Kurdistan) is currently a big concern, for if production is lost in Iraq there is not spare capacity to replace it with......eg......oil price goes up more.

My point was that a Basra subsea pipeline failure will not affect Kurdistan production. In fact it could be impetus for either increasing production , a sale . Or both.

and also to demonstrate that additional Onshore Pipelines are feasible in a reasonably short period of time. Should they be required for that increased production. From GKP for example.

I don't see him as a deramper. More of a dampener. A bit like Putup on the other site. It's quite a good board to be fair.

GENL results

Paul Weir, Interim Chief Executive of Genel, said:

“Our cash generation in the first half of the year has been exceptionally strong – driven by our low-cost, high-margin oil production and disciplined capital allocation. We remain focused on the delivery of our long-established strategy of putting capital to work to grow our production and cash generation, while retaining our resilience and paying a material and progressive dividend.

We generated $129 million in free cash flow and are well on track to generate over a quarter of a billion dollars of free cash flow for the full year. This continues to build our balance sheet strength and optionality, providing us with the funds to add the right assets at the right price. Our cash flow this year benefits from the recovery of receivables and our override payments, and we are focused on replacing these by building a portfolio that supports the resilience, sustainability, and progression of our material dividend.”

Nobody mentioned Kurdistan - its Iraq that has the problem with the Basrah port. The issue is if Basrah suffers a problem - the oil price is going up fast, which is a benefit to GKP.
