10/11/2016 11:21 | Production down and the clues are all there as to why. That obviously means less payment from the supportive hosts. DNO now reduced their original offer. I wonder how the BH's are feeling now? | bigdog5

10/11/2016 11:00 | ANALYSIS OF KURDISTAN MNR 2015 AND 2016 MONTHLY OILFIELD PRODUCTION FIGURES The Ministry of Natural Resources has this week released details of production for all fields since January 2015. The raw data can be found on their website. My own analysis of the data is as follows. The MNR have given data for ten fields, though one of these has ceased production and another has only just, for the first time, produced oil albeit at a minimal level. There are consequently eight producing fields which are relevant. Of those eight, two were producing only very modest amounts of oil and therefore there have actually been six producing fields. Avana and Bai Hassan are included by the MNR together with Khurmala, so those three count as "one". When we look at the pattern of production over the 21-month period (January 2015 to September 2016) some interesting points emerge. In particular: * the high-profile DNO and Genel fields of Tawke and Taq Taq have delivered disappointing performances. Comparing current production levels with those of Spring 2015, Tawke production is down by a significant c. 30,000 bopd, whilst Taq Taq is down by an alarming 70,000 bopd. Taken together, DNO and Genel account for a drop in Kurdistan oil production of 100,000 bopd * Kalegran (MOL) were expected by the MNR to achieve a production level of 35,000 bopd during 2015 at Akri-Bijeel. The field was taken off production in October 2015, and there is a consequent shortfall of 35,000 bopd. Taken together with the disappointing results from DNO and Genel as noted above, these three companies account for a drop in production, and non-delivery of anticipated production, of 135,000 bopd. This is an enormous number, at a time when Kurdistan was expecting to move toward its target of 1 million bopd * KAR have mitigated that DNO, Genel and MOL shortfall by increasing output from Khurmala (plus Avana and Bai Hassan). A very useful increase of about 125,000 bopd has been achieved by KAR, compared to the Spring 2015 level. Without this, Kurdistan production would be very much worse * some useful increases were also notched-up at Shaikan, Sarsang and Khalakan. Taken together with the KAR increase, these fully offset the DNO, Genel and MOL slippages. Turning specifically to Shaikan, we see some interesting results. Whilst some bloggers have alleged that the field is already in decline - such allegations being possible because of the woefully poor IR and PR from the company which leaves shareholders in the dark and also the company's total disinterest in doing anything about false allegations - this is clearly not the case. Looking at the published Shaikan data for the April 2016 to August 2016 period, the Shaikan production level is c. 39,400 bopd. This compares to the "nameplate" capacity of the surface facilities of 40,000 bopd as stated in RNS. Allowing for the inevitable lost production due to essential maintenance etc. work which is standard on all producing oilfields, it is clear that to average c. 39,400 bopd the actual production levels are running at c. 40,000 bopd or maybe a little more than that. There was a dip in Shaikan production in September 2015. I have just checked the reason for that with Iraq: (a) the export pipeline was shut-in, (b) this was followed by queues to empty the trucks at the pipeline injection point, and (c) there was then a strike by the truck drivers. In my personal opinion, Shaikan is at the very heart of the MNR's plans to boost Kurdistan oil production, assisted by the neighbouring analogue oilfield Atrush and also to a lesser extent by the nearby Swara Tika. ShaMaran, one of the partners at Atrush, has just announced that work has started on building the 10-mile 36-inch diameter Feeder Pipeline which will run from Shaikan to Pumping Station 2 on the main export pipeline. This Feeder Pipeline has the capacity to handle 750,000+ bopd of blended Shaikan, Atrush and Swara Tika production. Just another mull, in the light of silence from GKP's woeful IR and PR functions. | oil_investor

10/11/2016 10:50 | Oh dear. The poster shaftdrive1 is seemingly asserting that I have been advising the company to keep IR/PR to an absolute minimum so that the colossal asset potential remains under the radar. That, of course, would imply I was bezzers with Miss Vvedenskaya. Now you see Peart was in the way, he simply had to go. | 0il_1nvestor
