Not sure I quite follow. Of course any company can be bought out at any time. But saying it's imminent hundreds of time is like me guessing the time endlessly. If I eventually get it "right" does that make me a genius ? Of course not, I just guessed enough times that I eventually lucked out. Now if someone can point me to a company and tell me just once the day it is happening ahead of time then I'd be most grateful and they would be a genius

Yes its frustrating , and the trolls are a nuisance , but some of us have been here for a decade or more. However, just because something hasnt happened in the past 468 days doesnt mean it wont happen in the future. The best way to get a result (in my experience) is to sell your shares. Then typically (in my experience) the Company you just dumped gets sold ! LOL

The story doing the news rounds at the time was the Yanks wanted Iraqi oil - hence the war(s) but that was before they became nett exporters themselves. Not sure that would apply now. However the Kurds and Iraqis need the oil revenue so I expect action this year.

IMO

BUY FOR ISA RECOMMENDED:Gulf Keystone (GKP): 175pThis one is relatively easy to sum up – currently producing a whopping 43,190 bopd from their Shaikan field in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq and aiming to increase to 55,000 bopd by Q1 2022 beginning with the drilling of the SH-13 well in Q3 of 2021, GKP are valued at £369m and are sitting on a cash pile of $161mWith one of the lowest Opex around at $2.6/bbl, GKP are heavily leveraged to oil prices and with record production levels for 2021 must be loving these current oil prices – recently being described as a 'cash machine' by a well-known investment analyst. Also, with the resumption of regular payments to GKP from the Kurdish Regional Government ("KRG") for the last eleven months and the demise of ISIS political risk has diminished considerably. Repayment mechanisms are in place to recover outstanding arrears of $73.3 million too.?Confident enough to re-instate its annual dividend beginning with $25m this year and stating that with 'continuing strong oil prices, there may be opportunities to consider further distributions to shareholders this year". Growing production, growing cash, dividends back in place (possibility to grow), lowering costs, strong oil prices. Buy for growth and dividend. Risks have shifted from political to the oil price.

Critics of the 2003 US invasion of Iraq have always believed the real motivation was taking control of the world's second-largest proven oil reserves.Even the architects of Operation Iraqi Freedom were convinced Iraqi oil revenues would quickly fund reconstruction of a US client state that would help redraw the contours of the Middle East in America's favour. But if oil and influence were the prizes, then it seems China, not America, has ultimately won the Iraq war and its aftermath - without ever firing a shot.Today China, the world's largest importer of crude oil, is Iraq's biggest trading partner. Only Russia sells more oil to Beijing. In the first half of this year, Iraqi oil shipments to China increased almost 30 per cent from a year earlier and accounted for more than a third of Iraq's total exports. During a visit to Beijing last year, Adel Abdul Mahdi, then Iraq's prime minister, described Sino-Iraqi relations as poised for a "quantum leap" and his electricity minister wrote "China is our primary option as a strategic partner in the long run."

BS - this is exactly the wrong kind of share to stick in your ISA. It's highly speculative. Have held this share in the past but it broken trend north of 200 when I sold. Got a lot of stick here at the time but hey ho, I know where my investing/trading expectancy lies and it isn't ramping the hell out of a share or listen to those doing it
