Very welcome dividends today, the sharp fall in the share price this morning less so. I wonder why, someone exiting? Heading for top up territory.

Yeah the wind generation side of things isn't great news.
Regarding the cost of energy coming down, I guess bad news for us that hold energy stocks but then good news regarding our energy bills.

I remain confident with UKW and will add further now it's gone below my average.

Good luck all 👍🏻

UKW slipping as energy prices settle and as SSE reports muted wind generation performance due to another year of light wind conditions.

Even with dividends my holding is struggling to make breakeven, 3% down atm.

UKW not getting much boost from the minister for energy security yesterday announcing government approval for developers to bribe local communities with cheap supply deals if they accept onshore wind farm development in their back yard.

Yes the share price always seems to cycle more than the ex-div, driven by what else maybe the wholesale energy market? Perversely I am hoping for a deep dip here as I would like to double up my ISA holding before the next dividend round. Actually before the July interim results and maybe further acquisition announcements which I suspect will bring more good news.

I rather hoped the quarterly dividends would discourage the Day Traders, but ducking out day before ex dividend date seems to be the way these days.

Everything I hold seems to drop more than the divi earned on ex divi day regardless of how the wider market is doing.

Either that or it kicks in the day before as people jump ship knowing what's coming.
A couple of times I have followed that approach with success but tend to buy and hold rather than scalp a few points.

Good luck all 👍🏻

Back in red after dividend locked in, another 2p and divi will be wiped out.

And again today, chunky volume trades so a serious investor is building a position, keep going UKW are worth 165-170p.

Though I'm holding & impressed, there seems to be an unusual lack of investment interest here?

RNS now up. 2.19p div confirmed payable 26 May. NAV 166.3p. All sounds positive!

No you haven't missed it, expect an rns confirming NAV and dividend announcement and maybe an AGM outlook statement or trading update after lunch. My guess is an increase on the quarterly to 2.18p. This may be too late for much of a reaction if everyone has sloped off for the long weekend.

Agree that at 155 or under you get a solid divi and should see some decent share price upside too later this year.

Good luck all 👍🏻

Despite which reservation I have added a good chunk in my ISA at 155p today. An AGM statement this week with the Q1 dividend announcement where the increase is going to be surprisingly good news, followed by news during Q2 of the latest extension/development to go live, followed by an interim report in July with a few pence of NAV progress. And maybe further news of growth by acquisition from surplus cash flow despite the drag from the Electricity Generator Levy. Daft that UKW is selling at a 7-8% discount, should be trading 165-170p by now. Not many stocks so confident of dividend progression in line with RPI.

Oh no, approbation from IC, investors curse. And I was just thinking of adding some more into my ISA in time for the higher dividend.

An investment trust keeping up with inflation

This wind farm investor has maintained the real value of its dividend for a decade

marktime - thanks for the info, that's an interesting site.

At first blush, I'd have thought that installing batteries at the site of the transmission bottlenecks would be a bit of a no-brainer for all concerned, but then I guess the wind power owners are not bothered as they get paid regardless (by Nat grid), and Nat Grid are not bothered as they just pass on the costs to retail & businesses, so maybe there just isn't sufficient incentive to get it done!

marktime1231, how do you know that "ESO are curtailing about 4-5GW of our national wind generation capacity"? - is there a website that details this activity?

cheers

I’m hoping energy storage trusts will have their day (or years) at some point as storage is increasingly needed. Quite a lot of projects are yet to be built out afaik.
