The fact you've traded the shares recently does undermine your original point.

I am very happy holding Goodwin shares and have only traded 1000 shares this year due to Chancellors on both parties not realising that increases in CGT curtails trading, so reducing their tax intake!

Ha ha I own over 500,000 Goodwin !

And presumably unable to buy or sell any due to the elevated price :-)

If you haven't got £70, you should probably not be investing in shares

Doesn't seem to be harming my other favourite share beginning with a 'G' Games Workshop!

I don't think it has harmed GDWN either - how many other metal bashers are on a PE of 30.

It really is time that Goodwin listened to me and subdivided their shares. This would help enormously with liquidity. Very few people like dealing in shares that cost £70 each.

This has got to be just about the most volatile share on the market at the moment!

Id say as the company grows, they will have more institutional interest and the broker can work as IR and the management csn focus on growing the business

I would be interested to read any research that Berenberg produce because I believe Goodwin has a very bright future.

Goodwin has long operated below the radar screens of all but its most loyal fans. It has never courted investor attention before. So what should be made of its appointment of Berenberg as its Joint Corporate Broker with immediate effect, alongside Shore Capital?

It is trading on a p/e of over 30 and a yield of 1.9% so it cannot claim to be heavily undervalued as is the case with other quoted family controlled businesses. It has never commissioned or supported any broker research, and does not need to raise capital since it bought back a hefty chunk of its shares at £48 a year and a half ago.

So what is the point of adding a second corporate broker? Could it have anything to do with the roll-out of its new startup businesses - Duvelco and AVD - which lie outside the company's traditional areas of competence?

Patience? Margins profits and cash upwards, thats very good. As good as getting 14,5m funded capex that increases production for the future. Duvelco will take some time. Refractory not growing can be understood by global macro and maybe avd offsetting some.Meanwhile in shellafield, https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/24608759.new-storage-rack-sellafield-set-save-billions/

With most of the GSC output being subject to radiographic testing, and the throughput capacity being trebled by end 2025, presumably volumes and hence sales are going to increase significantly

https://www.duvelco.com/transforming-plasma-etching-deposition-with-ducoya/The future looks bright for this new polyimide resin, with ongoing innovations promising even more exciting developments.Definitely will be interesting. Duvelco also is currently developing a specific tool to evaluate the economic value of productivity and process yield improvements enabled by the adoption of Ducoya, and we can see how beneficial is for clients to switch to Ducoya. Many irons in the fire.

Janeann -- recent fsll is probably nothing to do with current trading or prospects. A few weeks ago there was a flurry of buying connected with GDWN joining the FTSE 250, which drove the price up. Since then, investors have maybe been looking at the share price being around 30x current earnings, which is quite high, and have been raking profits. Still a great company with excellent prospects IMHO.
