29/12/2023 16:26 | Congratulations to you kneecaps for keeping the faith for 37 years. You've been well rewarded but had to sit through a pretty difficult time post the O&G peak. The new generation are looking to emulate and even surpass their seniors. | cockerhoop
29/12/2023 15:37 | Congratulations to the Directors and staff of Goodwin both past and present for the phenomenal performance of your company since 1986 when I first bought shares at 21 pence. Long may this continue! | kneecaps2
27/12/2023 08:04 | You had your easat update this time. Out of companies control and happy to see they are confident in getting them snd re tendered to greater value for us. Now easat is vertically integrated and they can service all the installation that is greater margin.Besides, duvelco is a crazy opportunity for us which starts contributing next year. Pumps growing in india and entering americas. Avd same. Sit down and relax. Buy on dips | arregius
22/12/2023 09:27 | I wouldn't take any notice of these modern day skittish traders always looking for an excuse to sell and take profits, then changing their mind and scratching around for a reason to buy back in again Lol.. Goodwin is run by management with very long term thinking hence anyone seriously interested in buying shares also need to take a long term view.. Latest IC podcast with Goodwin mentioned at 21.00m in: | cfro
21/12/2023 16:48 | I viewed a recent presentation where a company described the growth in one part of its business using the term "exploding pipeline". With GDWN, I suspect we have multiple exploding pipelines. | shanklin
21/12/2023 16:04 | To be fair, there's a certain amount of expectation baked into a share price of ~5500p. A lot depends on what you think eps is going to be this FY and what the likely profit growth is beyond that. If, say, eps is between 225 and 255p for this FY and we're looking at sustainable profit growth of between 15 and 25% per annum after that, then I think the current share price is justified. But if we're not hitting those sorts of growth rates and ended up only hitting medium term growth rates of 10 to 12%, then we're likely looking at a PEG ratio of >2.0, which is generally reduce or sell up territory in my book. | bareknee
21/12/2023 13:43 | Basically the price. A lot of optimism is baked into the share price at the moment. My reservations about the new management : - they started with a share bonus plan that was very generous for a management that hadn't proved anything yet - for years now they have been touting about the imminent profit rises for their machining operation, but that for some reason never came - different (=more optimistic) way of booking backlog - Easat : they projected higher profits based on important new orders that up to now never materialised Maybe I'm just impatient, but anyhow I was more comfortable with the style of Richard & John. | skanjete2
21/12/2023 12:50 | What did change for you then? | arregius
21/12/2023 10:21 | I think I have a clear perspective : I was shareholder from 2011 to recently, visited the company, attended AGM, and had regular contact. How about you? | skanjete2
21/12/2023 10:11 | You should follow the story more closer | arregius
20/12/2023 12:09 | I'm less optimistic here. The new management has proven to be overly optimistic and tends to overpromise and underdeliver. This is contrary to the former generation of the Goodwin family. They have a nice set of operations, but with a market cap of almost 450m £, the market expects a lot and they don't tend to deliver. | skanjete2
20/12/2023 10:55 | FYI we have 57.5p going ex dividend on 21st March, pay date 12th April, as was declared with the finals. | gdjs100
20/12/2023 10:24 | Actually you might be right. It is very confusing. They make virtually no reference to the interim dividend at all and no mention of what it is or ex-div dates etc.. | cfro
20/12/2023 10:03 | They pay an annual dividend in two instalments, so I don't think anything has changed there. | gdjs100
20/12/2023 09:54 | We are getting quarterly updates from now on, whoop whoop whoop yey get in there LOl... Second half profits won't be so good due to order delays but there is a lot to like about today's results. The Electric fire-extinguishers now making sales into the large USA market and India pumps manufacturing plant getting up and running. Looks like the Easat satellite systems contract will be signed-off next year. Very exciting times ahead just a shame no interim dividend but i understand why. | cfro
20/12/2023 08:08 | Nice to get quarterly updates. When will the next be? easat potential is even greater than before with current contracts re tendered in favorable terms | arregius
20/12/2023 07:35 | good results, avd standout, growing pains, easat orders not yet placed or confirmed still under competition so hiatus in that sub's order book? | 1c3479z
18/12/2023 12:31 | This is a longterm hold to add on pullbacks. Might give a short term pullback with results as the price have gone up quite a lot.Business is booming and thats what matters longterm | arregius
16/12/2023 16:58 | market expectations high for a favourable report a/c to share price performance. | 1c3479z

23/10/2023 11:27 | good summary from Beddard, II makes the point the divi rising while still investing in the business and it's run for the long-term some unique features at least for the UK. Easat radar orders not confirmed but still competing for it, by the sound of it. | 1c3479z
11/10/2023 21:44 | As in a Nuclear Storage Box produced by being cast in a foundry. GDWN produce the (SSB) Self Shielded Box for Sellafield with both the body and lid cast. AVG produce their 3m3 storage boxes by welding and use of a machine shop. The 63 can rack is a large frame containing 20 tubes which each hold 3 cans of waste (I know that only adds up to 60 cans!!). This is manufactured at GDWN international in the machine shop. | cockerhoop
11/10/2023 11:42 | GDWN will not have competed on those contracts, one was a extension on an existing contract with Sellafield and the other was a £3m contract with Magnox to supply some internals for a concrete box. GDWN has won contracts for cast storage boxes at Sellafield along with 63 can racks both of which are likely to re-occur. New iterations of the 3m3 box which AVG currently produce may be of interest to GDWN in the future. AVG certainly won't have the capacity to supply the full £900m contract. | cockerhoop |
