23/10/2023 10:27 | good summary from Beddard, II makes the point the divi rising while still investing in the business and it's run for the long-term some unique features at least for the UK. Easat radar orders not confirmed but still competing for it, by the sound of it. | 1c3479z
11/10/2023 20:44 | As in a Nuclear Storage Box produced by being cast in a foundry. GDWN produce the (SSB) Self Shielded Box for Sellafield with both the body and lid cast. AVG produce their 3m3 storage boxes by welding and use of a machine shop. The 63 can rack is a large frame containing 20 tubes which each hold 3 cans of waste (I know that only adds up to 60 cans!!). This is manufactured at GDWN international in the machine shop. | cockerhoop
11/10/2023 10:42 | GDWN will not have competed on those contracts, one was a extension on an existing contract with Sellafield and the other was a £3m contract with Magnox to supply some internals for a concrete box. GDWN has won contracts for cast storage boxes at Sellafield along with 63 can racks both of which are likely to re-occur. New iterations of the 3m3 box which AVG currently produce may be of interest to GDWN in the future. AVG certainly won't have the capacity to supply the full £900m contract. | cockerhoop
11/10/2023 10:27 | avg has announced a contract win for nuclear storage boxes, does Gdwn compete or have they lost the tender? | 1c3479z

19/9/2023 07:36 | What are you assuming? Takeover? Family has more than 50% of votes... | arregius
18/9/2023 15:13 | I've long believed that this company being what it is ie. well established, with a long trading record and tightly family controlled, unique and highly specialised would never attract a bid. The whole idea of that perhaps sounds preposterous. ..And im not saying for one minute any such bid, should one materialise, would be welcomed by the Goodwin family or indeed ever be recommended but why would that stop someone like one of the big defence companies or some large engineering company from trying.. | cfro

18/9/2023 12:41 | The share price showing extraordinary strength these last few months now and particularly the last few days where it actually rose even on ex-div day.. A string of small trades today seems like an institution accumulating but hard to tell. I wonder why the sudden excitement. | cfro

24/8/2023 12:12 | It's a good piece (I'm a big fan of Maynards reports) but rather limited in scope as it completely fails to mention the Refractory side of the business. | cockerhoop
24/8/2023 11:55 | As it does not appear to have been posted here originally, thought I would leave this link to an excellent article by Maynard Paton from 2021 | shanklin |
