Arbitration day 1, slightly frustrating to me that we're not going to be made aware as to how things are progressing but guess that's all part of the legal procedure.

Yes agree greyingsurfer, it's a strange situation going into a court case against a government that is already owe us $107m in overdue payments for oil produced.

Even if Genl win, the KRG will probably just stick it on the slate.

It does not feel that there is much in the price for the proceeds of the court case.

As a coin toss
50% chance they win
50% chance they get 1.5 billion dollars for costs sunk into gas project
50% chance the Kurds pay out in some form or other

12.5% of 1.5 billion USD gives about 140 million GBP

The tribunal’s decision will not be announced until some months after the hearing. The KRG case, that Genl failed to comply with the terms of the licence, seems hopeless. But that has not deterred them from contesting these cases in the past.
See the judgement in the Dana case, in which the KRG was found to have terminated the licence because it’s officials were deprived of “sweeteners221; in the path to progress.
