10/12/2021 21:43 | There are many investors who want income through dividends as well as some capital growth. The dividends have kept me here for 13 years without feeling the need to take out any capital gains. If dividends become less attractive than other investments then more investors may sell shares. | nod

10/12/2021 12:30 | @nod This is incorrect. To combat the inflation threat companies should work to try and increase their pricing power in the market, so that they can pass on the increase in materials prices without to much impact. I would argue increasing dividends is precisely the opposite of what firms should be looking to so as it takes away cash which will be needed for re-investment in the business. After all the goal of management (who are stewards of our capital) is to increase overall shareholder wealth. Paying out more profits in cash via dividends would do the opposite to this. | liquidtyler

10/12/2021 01:20 | As inflation and bank interest rates rise, mature companies will need to work at increasing their annual dividends to make their shares attractive from a dividend pov. | nod

09/12/2021 00:41 | The Face is a very good article. Everyone who is feeling anxious about GAW should read it.\\Figures from January show that 4.7 million people now use the Warhammer community website, marking an increase of 200,000 on the same period last year.\\I reckon it will be around 5 million users by now. | nod

08/12/2021 14:08 | Thanks, Robin. Looks very interesting - a company other than GAW would surely have mentioned the metaverse in connection with the Nexon deal! But that's why i like the management here - all about long term value not pumping up the share price | makw61
08/12/2021 13:28 | makw61 Yes, the Nexon deal is new. Today they announced a licensing agreement on Warhammer AoS: The c. £19 million in licensing income easily surpassed the previous record of £10.7 million achieved in H1 2020. | robinnicolson

08/12/2021 11:37 | Being a bit lazy here, but £19m royalty income feels like it must be a record for a 6 month period - is that right? (btw can't beat other companies paying you to promote your own brand!). Also is the Nexon deal a new one? Doesn't ring any bells. Must be a chunky one, and presumably ongoing royalties if it hits the right numbers? On the profit share i took it that employee numbers must have increased by around 10% YoY, which is a little faster than underlying turnover and also mainly sterling costs i guess, so that probably explains the increase in costs as a percentage of revenue. | makw61
08/12/2021 11:17 | \\As in the prior year, we are paying GBP2,500 in cash to each employee under the Group Profit Share Scheme in December (GBP6.9 million; 2020: GBP6.2 million) to reward their exceptional contribution to our performance. Dividends declared in the period are 100p per share (2020: 80p).\\This is not a sign of a company in decline ... | nod
08/12/2021 11:10 | "Licensing income has increased to c.GBP19 million (2020: GBP8.7 million) " | nod
08/12/2021 09:45 | Slightly mixed TU. To see underlying turnover growth (const FX) vs a tough comparative was a positive to me. Been a big jump in costs though, which cannot be down to freight/FX alone. Will need to see interims to understand that better. As companies grow you can get step changes in overheads which is fine, but not if turnover doesn't continue growing thereafter. Royalties are always lumpy, but obviously very good in this six month period. I think they've only scratched the surface on royalties which is why i like the business and remain a LTH. I've yet to meet anyone who's got really rich from TA, but if it works for some people that's great! ATB | makw61
08/12/2021 08:38 | yes indeed. technical support is 8500p, and below that 6300p. Technicals have called this one so far. As much as I like the company, it has been an accident waiting to happen for awhile now. | buffettjnr
08/12/2021 08:14 | Well now the wider market didn't like that update.Any chartists on here have any views on the technical analysis?Be nice if we get a big drop in the short term so we can pick up some more at a bargain price. | r2oo
08/12/2021 04:18 | I noticed Edison updated something on 6-December but I cannot see what. "Our DCF-based valuation remains £129 per share." Edison increased DCF valuation in May to 120 and increased again in August to 129. | nod
