We are due a trading statement / update in mid March - I am really hoping that is positive, contains some numbers, and stops this slow death slide

It has been very disappointing to see the slide from £123 to £73 over the past six months, without any real bad news from the company

I am unfortunately expecting another bland "trading in line with expectations" in March, which will mean that no further meaningful information is available until the announcement in early June 2022, when rough results for the year to 31 May 2022 are known.

Long term, I am still reasonably confident of this turning into an IP / media powerhouse, but the share price free fall has been very tough to watch!

I think back to my post on this board from July 2021:

"M_E_X27 Jul '21 - 14:18 - 5341 of 5880 Edit

Does anyone else fear that GAW are losing their way? I am a long time shareholder and have most of my net worth invested in this business. But the comments about rising executive pay, high staff bonuses, focus on ESG and the environment, plus things like re-paying all furlough and other money, make me worry..."

And from November 2021:

"
M_E_X - 14 Nov 2021 - 13:00:32 - 5573 of 5881 Games Workshop & Warhammer Online - GAW

I know the Board won't change their ways, but the lack of consistent trading updates and lack of a consistent dividend pattern is just another stick that the media use to beat the stock with. I do wish they would be more consistent in terms of timing!

I also do think it is poor form to skip an update after the profit warning a few weeks ago, as I thought it was poor form to provide so few updates during COVID. COVID turned out very well, but I am still nervous about the time between now and getting the 6 month results in Christmas!

Also, did anyone else notice that the Chair of the Audit Committee left the Board a few weeks ago? There was an RNS. Again, that would be a fairly major red flag for any other company - but I didn't see it mentioned here."

I am starting to wish that I put my money where my mouth was!!

Currently very high metacritic scores for Total War : WH3 so likely to be big seller for Creative Assembly. No1 on Steam despite still being in pre order. Especially interested in Chinese sales with the Cathay faction included.

There are a few reviews published for Total War: Warhammer 3
The third and final game released over six years. There is no clear evidence, but I suspect the Total War games introduce new recruits into the GW hobby.

"Despite this being the finale, it's actually a fantastic starting point for beginners, with a lengthy tutorial campaign that goes over the game's core points in detail."

https://www.fool.co.uk/2022/02/11/3-top-growth-stocks-near-52-week-lows/Games WorkshopA final growth share that's let off steam has been the fantasy figurine-maker Games Workshop (LSE: GAW). The shares are now down over 20% year-to-date and only slightly above the 52-week low. Product release delays and increasing costs are partly to blame.Of the three mentioned here, this is the stock I'd be most likely to buy today. While fixating on valuation is never a good idea, a forward P/E of 22 looks very reasonable, considering its dominance of this niche market. Again, its finances are robust compared to many other companies.Yes, there's a risk the share price could dip lower if margins continue to be squeezed. As such, it may pay for me to buy in tranches if I end up pulling the trigger. There was a time when Games Workshop was knocking on the door of the FTSE 100. Assuming it is able to successfully push its Warhammer franchise over the next few years via games and films, I'm confident this could still happen.

Also, GAW have just announced a rotation of the 40k range, pulling some lines by the end of February. Totally understandable, and, true to form they are giving fans the opportunity to put in orders before the cut off date.

Hats off to GAW for giving consumers around 4 weeks notice of product price increases. Some of the products that are rising by 10% are made in China.

I calculate Buffettolgy sold around 28,000 shares (from 1.243m to 1.215m) in January so not particularly material.

Looks like Buffettolgy fund sold some shares in January to meet client redemptions. I'm sure that will have frustrated Keith as he is a big fan and the company remains the fund's biggest holding.

May explain some of the price action though.

Coloplast is a quality business, serving shall we say some rather personal medical needs. It's been on my watchlist for a few years now. It's one of those shares that always seems expensive but then stays expensive and just steadily compounds away.....

Halma is my oldest holding, and one of my largest, well over 25 years now. An old-fashioned conglomerate, The long term share graph makes me smile. Now at bargain levels. Poor divi though.

Halma is on a few tip sheets for 2022. One I've watched for 3 or 4 years - while they went up. Management is rated very highly. They grow through acquisition of tech companies in the health sector.

The main beneficiaries of this shock to the system have been shipping lines, which are making huge profits from massive demand, amid fierce competition for space on container ships. From that BBC article.

GW ship Books, Cards, Dice, Terrain etc from Hong Kong/China directly to the US by container vessel. Perhaps 30% of total US imports, 70% shipped from Nottingham.

All European supplies AFAIA are routed via the UK.

I am not aware that Games Workshop sending anything from China to Europe/US by container ship with the exception of printed material, which is not a material part of their sales. They do send from UK to US though.
