Last year we had a trading update in early May. Otherwise we should get an update around the financial year end, which I think is early June.

Recruitment is my biggest take from the last 12 months including

Schools Club program extended in the UK and rolled out overseas.

New initiative with Scouts - you can now get a Warhammer modelling badge

Hachette Part Works

Warhammer Adventurer Series of books for young readers including audio books with David Tennant & Billi Piper.

Lower price point initial sets for new recruits.

Re-issue of old models/games bringing lapsed players back to Warhammer.

Often the major release £100 box sets are a good value 2 army collections bundled with new narrative and rules for a part of the respective Warhammer world. In the following weeks GAW release complimentary figures to allow a balanced army to be constructed in the chosen force.

Skimish games (Kill Team, Blood Bowl, Necromunda, etc) have also become popular. These are also a major release £100 box and are a shorter version game with a reduced size army and concise rules so a game can be played almost straight from the box.

I suppose it depends on what sort of investor you are?

You can wait for the company financial announcements but understanding the product & markets gives you a better feel for sales & customer excitement at an earlier stage imo.

I decent proportion of GAW turnover is new releases so the fact that the release schedule continues to be relentless (and well received) adds confidence to my own forecasts which is especially important when the house brokers are so conservative.

As I visit local shops I find having some product knowledge help to ask appropriate questions (and understand the answers)

2 Main Products Sets - Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Age of Sigma split maybe 60/40 in terms of sales.

Is there a simple explanation anywhere of how all these worlds fit together. I am pleased with how GAW is doing in general but have no real feel for the significance of different product announcement.

For example, as an investor, should I care about:
- Forbidden Power & WarCry
- a shortage of Abaddon the Despoiler

Feedback welcome please.

Interesting. I wondered why there were so many searches in 2018, especially in the USA. Here's the reason:https://www.shadowspear.com

It is quite interesting to input any new or impending GAW release into Google Trends to see the measure of interest by region and over different time scales. Games Workshop generally seems popular in Alaska.

March has been a pretty big month for Chaos releases from Games Workshop, with new models crammed into Shadowspear, a new Abaddon the Despoiler model, and brand new Chaos Space Marines due to hit stores by the end of the month!

Now, GW has teased two new Chaos releases, which will probably be up for pre-order in about a week!

Couldn't resist the move below £30 & have finally added here after watching it surge higher over the last two years.

Slightly concerned by the rise in receivables / inventories and ambigious reference to gross margins & stock levels at H1, but felt it was now or never for me.

In terms of quality / value:

- Very high operating margins & (lease adjusted) ROCE
- Excellent asset turnover (for a high margin business)
- Very strong IP with huge potential
- Significant net cash balance
- Ex-cash rolling PE under 17
- Substantial dividend

So with 100p already booked and a record of beating expectations, I feel this currently offers an excellent entry point on a long term view.

The grief across New Zealand is immeasurable and understandably omnipresent. Most Kiwis have never experienced hate crimes of this magnitude on their doorstep. Our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is right, that the shooter's name should never be spoken. Call him anything but his name. It is notoriety that he craved more than anything. Unfortunately, the overseas press is obsessed with printing his name, as if it is important.

I'm a bit surprised the pound is holding up so well. In particular against the USD, which is what matters most for us. The exchange rate has been in a fairly tight range this financial year, between 0.75 and 0.79. This remains very favourable compared with 3 to 10 years ago.

and Warcry is scheduled for release in the summer

The servitors at Games Workshop HQ are currently in overdrive, producing a seemingly endless array of new products, the latest of which were revealed at the GAMA Trade Show this week. For the full announcement check out the Warhammer Community page.

The biggest GW announcement from the show was a brand new game in the Warhammer:Age of Sigmar stable, Warcry.

Warcry looks a little like a cross between Warhammer Underworlds and Warhammer 40K: Kill Team, perhaps unsurprisingly, since the designers of both games have worked on it.
