08/2/2019 00:33 | The man at the centre of an incident between 'unruly' British tourists and members of the public at Takapuna Beach can now be named. A warrant is out for the arrest of 26-year-old James Anthony Nolan. The runaway British tourist failed to appear in Auckland District Court for a second time this morning - where name suppression lapsed.A charge of fraud has been added since he last showed up. I don't know how he thinks he can get home. Perhaps he doesn't know he's on an island. | nod

05/2/2019 03:43 | An update on holidaying Brits. Two more holidaying Brits appeared in a New Zealand court on Monday charged with operating a roofing scam and defrauding elderly people out of $25,000 for roof repairs not done. Police have received dozens of similar complaints over a few months, which they are investigating and expect more charges will be laid. Police say there may be 32 Brits operating the scam across several towns and most have been here on holiday since September. They masquerade as a well-known roofing company, with replica business cards. An entourage of women and young children were supporting from the public gallery. The men were remanded in custody and will appear in court again next week. | nod
02/2/2019 06:56 | I think this Play Fusion tie-in particularly strong. In addition to royalties, cards are purchased in store. The card game is already popular with established Warhammer players - I've seen it played in store. Now available PC, Nintendo as well as Mobile. | cockerhoop
02/2/2019 04:28 | All this peripheral stuff can attract new recruits into the hobby. . "Developers PlayFusion and Games Workshop have announced that the card game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch and PC. This new video game is adapting the board game which has sold over 20 million cards. The Steam version of the game will be out this month and the Nintendo Switch version is said to "be out shortly after the Steam release". | nod
31/1/2019 13:31 | "War Games" to be discussed after the 1:30 news according to Jeremy. P.S. I am not a big fan of Jeremy Vine, to say the least, but I thought he did an excellent job of bringing Warhammer 40k to life which, in a radio show, is quite impressive. | shanklin

31/1/2019 01:31 | China approves Tencent’s mobile games launch, but longer wait for blockbusters January 25, 2019 Chinese regulators approved two mobile games of Tencent Holding Ltd for the first time in almost a year on Tuesday, but are yet to okay its closely awaited blockbuster title PlayerUnknown’ China is home to the world’s largest video game market, where 620 million players spent $37.9 billion last year mostly on mobile and PC games, showed data from gaming market researcher Newzoo. But authorities stopped approving the release of new titles from March last year amid regulatory overhaul triggered by growing concern about violent content and game addiction, particularly among young players. 31/1/2019 01:16 | The Seeking Alpha article focused on IP and licencing for games. It briefly mentions the massive Chinese mobile game market. It we could break into this China market with a strong Warhammer product it could change our fortunes in China. Here's an interesting recent snippet. Chinese company Tencent has acquired a 36% stake in Fatshark. So, .... we can expect to see Vermantide ported to Tencent's new chinese gaming console (which is called Blade) Next step a mobile phone Warhammer game for China. | nod

30/1/2019 10:54 | Memphis Tom missed out the Trade outlets: "Games Warehouse sells both online and in its 507 retail shops around the world. The Memphis center handles Games Workshop's distribution for all 150 stores in North America." The Memphis centre must be delivering to the Trade outlets throughout the USA. GAW doesn't give us a geographic breakdown of our Trade outlets but I would guess there are well over 1,000+ Trade outlets in the USA. North America Trade sales last year were 41 Million GBP - around 43% of total Trade sales. | nod
30/1/2019 08:56 | I was just thinking 'nice to read an article on GAW with no factual errors' and then they produce this in the last sentence. 'Last year, the company’s revenue rose to 125.2 million Euros compared to 109.6 million Euros the year before' Good news on the warehouse expansion pushing ahead and the efficiency gains alluded to. Distribution costs rose to 3.0% in 2018 from from 2.6% in 2017 on significantly higher turnover so plenty of scope for improvement once complete. | cockerhoop
30/1/2019 08:26 | "The company will expand the 100,000-square-foot building by another 50,000 square feet, Tom Chipley, Games Workshop's distribution and logistics manager for North America, told The Daily Memphian Monday morning." A 50% increase in US sales would be very helpful :-) | shanklin |
