All well and good winning contracts, but for shareholders this is utterly meaningless until the company delivers on these awards, and shareholders see some value accruement, why are these companies listed except to enable them to raise capital when management damage shareholder value as opposed to increasing it. I hope Hocking proves to be a sound manger, so far this company has delivered little better than all the other civil engineers/building firms.

The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) has awarded the contract for the build of its new flagship facility at the heart of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland in Renfrewshire to Morrison Construction, part of the Galliford Try Group. The contract, worth around £42 million, was awarded after the University of Strathclyde, as the operator of NMIS, approached the market with an Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) restricted tender process. The process saw the Scottish construction firm prove to be the most economically advantageous in terms of both cost and quality. As part of the contract, Morrison Construction is committed to achieving the design team's aspirations of the building being awarded BREEAM 'outstanding' for sustainability – the highest-accolade for sustainability in the UK construction industry.

this looks amazingly cheap - 80 % is public works, and all the new infra structure the govt is promising, so in for £5k worth for now.

Why is it that

"Its confusing why there hasn't been a decent blue day here in ages even when the markets are boyant!"

Someone needs to fill a large order and the share price is kept low. Their is probably a distressed seller (that needs the cash) around using upward spikes.

You need the patience of a Saint with this one.
When it turns it will make gradual incremental steps upward, IMO.

No debt and no worry of not getting eventually paid for a contract.
The risks are minimised.

Just get ready for more big contract information and talk of an eventual special delayed Covid dividend?

To be fair they have stated they will be going for less riskier contracts and more public sector work (government funded) and they have started doing so, aswell as instituitional investors buying in late last week! You would think this is due a move up, but volume is low!Its confusing why there hasnt been a decent blue day here in ages even when the markets are boyant! Each to thier own what people do with thier money. Im going to ride it our for a while, but you do have to cut losses some stage i guess. As mentioned PR isnt the best is it! Update is required

I’d prefer to see some of these quoted civil builders to merge, and show more discipline, CLLN. gave the sector a bad name, the management should have been placed in the dock to set an example.

Well, that is investing in markets, always make a fool of oneself, sure when you buy to make beans you often continue to see it continue rising, but that is the way it is. I’m disappointed by this company to be frank, and the construction sector in general for its derisory margins, you’d think that would be a thing of the past, but Hocking has said he wishes to raise them, perhaps he will achieve that!

Maybe time to get out here, sound of silence and no statement disappointing, I would not expect director buys, but perhaps misplaced optimism even allowing for Covid-19 effect. Always wise not to listen to advice of folk who profess to be on the inside.

Hocking should make a statement of some sort, even if it is simply an update regarding Covid-19, we have not heard anything since 31.03., and now they must have more projects back in operation investors should be informed of the latest state of affairs.
