21/7/2015 10:08 | The company needs to come out and clarify its BASEL II requirements and reconfirm its reserving policy. The market has lost all confidence at the moment. | the shuffle man
21/7/2015 07:50 | An excellent summary Garbet and explains what is/has been going on for those that don't understand the industry. As I've said before history may show that this was a good time to buy, but if there are more worms in the can then it's possible, as you say, that the shares are worthless. Seems to me it's just a gamble here, without detailed inside knowledge. Still valued above tangible book here and, as you say, not made much if any profit historically, so not even particularly cheap if there are no more worms! | eezymunny
21/7/2015 06:32 | Interestingly the dirs buys have also dried up...is easy when you have a ridiculously high salary to fund the purchases....so we should be seeing v significant buying but we aren't.. | tsmith2
21/7/2015 05:29 | Garbetklb, interesting analysis, thanks. There is also all the cash in the bank ? If it is too good to be true... IMPO. | pennysharemillionaire2
20/7/2015 21:13 | 2014 Annual Report " the Board has historically targeted held reserves below the independent actuary’s best estimate" 2013 " the Board has historically targeted claims reserves which have been below the independent actuary’s best estimate" 2012 "The total reserve based upon management assumptions is within this range but below Grant Thornton’s best estimate by approximately £11.7 million" 2011 "The total reserve based upon management assumptions is within this range, although at the lower end and below Grant Thornton’s best estimate by approximately £6 million" Did you buy before all these reports? All this has been flagged many times. I suggest you didn't DYOR and if you end up getting wiped out then you only have yourself to blame. As I've said before I have no idea what will happen here. I just thought it too risky for me a long time ago. I wish you luck! | eezymunny
20/7/2015 19:43 | And if you invested prior to the annual report..... then what? Retrospective warrior. You need a crystal ball to determine whats going to happen. I guess the 95% pi's and institutional investors, who have held longterm, are also idiots.I wont be selling. Im a long term holder. | mw16
20/7/2015 19:16 | adyfc Big talk and you nothing of my financial position. I couldnt bear to read all the dribble on these posts especially yours. | mw16
20/7/2015 18:04 | EezymunnyI generally wouldnt trawl through 2900 posts before buying shares in a company. Even if i did, how could i trust anything a random poster said. After all if you are posting on this bb you probably dont know what your doing, wont have inside information and will be the last to know of any relevant information. All you get here is the retrospevtive experts and guys have had there fingers burnt. | mw16
20/7/2015 16:32 | Ady At least you still have your sense of humour. Don't know whatever happened to Pinky ! | the shuffle man
20/7/2015 14:17 | Tree shake, £1 by xmas. | adyfc
20/7/2015 14:11 | mw16 There have been many good posts on this thread over several years illustrating potential problems with under-reserving etc. Anyone who didn't read them didn't look very hard. Others will have read them and chosen to ignore them. C'est la vie! Fools and their money.... | eezymunny
20/7/2015 12:08 | ED 123 Thanks for the advice. Sounds like you should only trade shares if you are an accountant~!! Maybe some accountant out there could enlighten the masses as to what is going to happen to this company. Any takers willing to make an informed synopsis of Gable please step up. Second thoughts why didnt you inform us when things were rosy!! | mw16
18/7/2015 11:31 | mw16. If you haven't already done so, I would look into the business model and the way in which Gable reports its figures, especially its profits. If you don't understand Gable, you won't be able to say if it's going well or badly. In which case, should you be invested in it at all? Gable is not like an industrial or retail business, for example, where declared cash and profit are more reliable indicators of the health of the business. | ed 123
17/7/2015 19:15 | £1 by xmas. | adyfc
17/7/2015 18:07 | We need a statement from the board, an honest one, however bad, would be the best option. A business that supposedly has cash of £42m well above the market cap but no one wants to own it, continuous selling of shares. If they can't be bothered to make an announcement then repeated, substantial buying of shares in the market by the directors would do. | chrisgail
17/7/2015 14:15 | With apologies to holders for my apparent insensitivity, extrapolating the share price chart, I'd say 0p around November 2015. :/ (Not holding but still follow.) | ed 123
17/7/2015 14:14 | Theres the pension gone!! | mw16
17/7/2015 14:02 | Blimey! Where's the bottom? | germanicus
11/7/2015 11:35 | looks like all trust in the board has gone here | luckymouse
