01/8/2007 16:20 | I wouldn't imagine that holds much weight. EMAP is undergoing a strategic review at the moment with the possibility of selling off many of its different divisions to venture capitalists or other media heavyweights. | huffnpuff
01/8/2007 16:00 | Heard a rumour EMAP sniffing around | altube
01/8/2007 15:00 | I'm quite pleasantly surprised that (touch wood) FUTR has not been hit by the recent stockmarket jitters and if anything has been looking more like an upside breakout recently. Even though the new CEO's been doing a good job and seems to have stabilised the business I have to say that the current share price looks quite generous given broker consensus eps (according to Selftrade) of 2.45p for this year and 2.76p for next. It's a business that's liable to be vulnerable to fluctuations in consumer spending and I would have expected recent general anxieties about the economy to have filtered through to a more modest P/E here. So why is no-one selling FUTR shares when they're happy to dump FTSE heavyweights on more modest P/Es overboard? | bletherer
31/7/2007 09:38 | On hardly any volume though... still, an upward trend is an upward trend :D | huffnpuff
31/7/2007 08:55 | that was a jump | outsourcer
30/7/2007 17:38 | Lots of speculation about Future having a potential interest in the breakup of EMAP... mentioned in quite a few of the dailies. Suggests Future might be interested in acquiring individual titles. | huffnpuff
27/7/2007 11:33 | August 16 is when the next ABC circulation figures appear - will be a good indication how the magazine side of the business is performing. | huffnpuff
24/7/2007 15:29 | Not worth bothering about these moves too much IMO. This is about as classic a "sideways" chart as you could hope to see so it's really just noise until the upper or lower boundary of the range gets challenged. I would take those to be the February highs and January lows respectively, so on that basis we're just slightly above the middle right now. | bletherer
24/7/2007 15:09 | Today's graph looks a bit like a heart monitor, though not for a terminally ill patient I hope... | huffnpuff
24/7/2007 10:13 | ShareCrazy.com has a good section on that - showing all major holders and their recent +/- transactions and current holding in one place What's happeneing recently ? There seem to be tiny trades affecting the price quite heavily ? | psteer2
20/7/2007 11:33 | Yes it's irritating isn't it; I don't know why the FSA or whoever's responsible doesn't change the rules so that the party is required to state both previous and present holdings in the RNS. It's usually possible to work it out if you can be bothered by trawling through previous holdings RNSs but I don't see any good reason why investors should have to do the legwork. | bletherer
19/7/2007 16:44 | Never sure about these announcements. Why can't they simply say they've bought or disposed of some shares? Having had a look at Future's site, these companies haven't been listed before in having a stake in the company, so can we assume this is a purchase? | huffnpuff
16/7/2007 17:29 | Sorry, here's the link to the story: www.mcvuk.com/news/2 | huffnpuff
16/7/2007 17:29 | Future's CVG online games site has released impressive user figures with 1.6m unique visitors in May. Coupled with the ongoing success of GamesRadar, it looks like Future is nicely positioned to soak up the ad spend from the net, thus offsetting any print ad spend they might lose. BikeRadar has just launched too and is set to replicate the GamesRadar model, so fingers crossed for that too. | huffnpuff
16/7/2007 16:58 | Though the fact that the 2x 1.75m = precisely 3m suggests it might have been the same 3m shares being moved around twice (i.e. only 4m total). Even so, large volume on a down day is not so positive. | bletherer
16/7/2007 16:54 | 7M sold today ! | outsourcer
16/7/2007 15:53 | Oh well, looks like last Friday's close was just a blip. It did look a bit suspicious that the price just rose at the bell rather than during the day. Back into the drawer it goes. | bletherer
13/7/2007 17:23 | On another note, I find it quite annoying that Roger Parry, Future's so-called chairman, can say of his new role at Media Square that "I'm here pretty much five days a week". Grrrr. Link: www.telegraph.co.uk/ | huffnpuff
13/7/2007 17:19 | Was about to post the same thing - you just beat me to it :D | huffnpuff
13/7/2007 17:17 | No idea why but that was a nice little surge to close the week. Now back in the upper reaches of the range. 47.5p was the highest it reached in February, so if it starts to print above that then we have a potential breakout on our hands. | bletherer
11/7/2007 16:56 | Only 212,000 shares traded though. As bletherer said in a previous post, this share now seems to have fairly defined limits and will likely bob up and down between 40p and 44 pence until more news comes out. | huffnpuff
11/7/2007 16:25 | thats a big fall today | outsourcer
04/7/2007 13:09 | I make that a disposal of about 800,000 shares... not very significant. | huffnpuff
03/7/2007 12:42 | Sounds like a good deal today. I can see the logic behind this. Definitely compliments Future's exisiting portfolio of bike mags and websites. | huffnpuff
02/7/2007 17:44 | Interesting article about Stevie Spring in Press Gazette: www.pressgazette.co. Hope the speculation about her being headhunted by EMAP is nonsense. Been very impressed with her so far and would hate to see her go - would doubtless cause a fall in share price too. | huffnpuff |
