22/10/2018 08:16 | She’s flying today don’t you just love guys good call Erick I don’t think this is going back to 865 now. I read an article saying the short covering on gold is unwinding | ken tennis
22/10/2018 08:16 | I don't think there is a gap - traded at 902 a minute or so in, and the bar chart shows no gap. Let it rip... | imastu pidgitaswell
22/10/2018 08:15 | Yep Erik. Political and economy news is what will double this share price. | hamhamham1
22/10/2018 08:13 | erik... discussing May, Edd, and Trump is very relevant to Fres as the stock is sensitive to geopolitics. That's what we were doing. | hussyo
22/10/2018 08:12 | Nice move. Expected gap-up at open. Expected pull-back maybe to close that gap. Well done you guys who added around £8. | eriktherock
22/10/2018 08:08 | Lovely day today | hamhamham1
22/10/2018 08:07 | The problem with off-topic posts is that, although the intention is to keep the thread active, it actually has the effect of driving people interested in Fresnillo elsewhere. | eriktherock
21/10/2018 13:46 | Will Theresa May see out the week? Hmmmm... And it looks like Tuesday will be another big day, Erdogan said he is going to put all the Saudi journalist murder facts out to the Turkish parliament in a speech. | hamhamham1
21/10/2018 09:22 | That's the one. Have a look at it in chart form, going back 5 years... | hussyo
21/10/2018 07:49 | Or thse ones are easier to read maybe... Plus am sure Trump' s overnight statement claiming he is going to pull out of a ban on mid-range nuclear missile production must ratchet gold up a tad more as well? | hamhamham1
21/10/2018 07:16 | Huss. Yep, cool, is this it? Hopefully this page will auto translate on your browser, if not you should be able to manually translate it: COT-Report: Gold - Massive change of mood of big appointment speculators. The Commitments of Traders report published by the US regulator CFTC on Friday evening was notable for the massive change in sentiment among the major speculators. by Jörg Bernhard With the general interest in goldFutures went uphill as well. For example, the number of open contracts in the week ended October 16 increased from 465,253 to 474,418 futures (+ 2.0 percent), the strongest increase in two months. On the other hand, weekday views have seen the net short position (pessimistic market expectation) change from minus 25,866 contracts to a net long position (optimistic market expectation) of 31,996 futures , Above all, this was due to the non-commercials, who increased their long exposure by nearly 9,500 futures and at the same time reduced their short exposure by more than 46,000 futures. As a result, their net short position turned from minus 38. 175 futures into a net long position of 17,667 contracts. Small speculators (non-reportables) felt less buoyant buying mood and moved up their net long position from 12,309 to 14,329 contracts. Now it will be interesting to see if the change of mood will be sustainable. | hamhamham1
20/10/2018 20:55 | Ham... Gold CFTC net positions had a massive jump on Friday, absolutely huge. We're in for a rally of the yellow stuff; so long as nothing horrible comes up on the 24th, this could run. | hussyo
20/10/2018 08:56 | It looks like an increase. That is why you cannot judge the movement of the stock by one days action. It was released 1pm. Most people would be clocking off home for the weekend! | stampylong trader
20/10/2018 08:52 | There we go! BlackRock eh? Very nice :) "BlackRock's holding prior to the transaction, if any, was below the notifiable threshold." So was definately an increase. | hamhamham1
20/10/2018 08:47 | These TR-1's always are hard to read for me :) But my interpretation is that someone has increased their shareholding to 5.11% - crossing above the 5% mark and therefore RNS is issued? | hamhamham1
19/10/2018 19:50 | the upside target would be 1050 so it may not be prudent to wait for 865. Maybe start scaling-in 20 mins after open | eriktherock
19/10/2018 19:47 | Hi Doc, thanks Ken. we'll see. | eriktherock
19/10/2018 16:39 | Blackrock now hold 5% - only 30% out there. All good fun... | imastu pidgitaswell
19/10/2018 14:51 | Bottom should be in for FR and silver, I'll be back next week or so with a view for recovery over the winter and spring . I'm slightly concerned that ALL stocks will fall with a stocks crash, so a matter of sector correlation processes. Lots of money from Bonds is going to end up in gold, so why not money from shares falling. | hectorp
19/10/2018 10:25 | Erik looking at the charts today it looks like your back test of 865 will come to fruition silver is up and FRES down all we need is silver to turn down and bang the back test will be done. Then time to watch and pick up a few more. ATB Ken | ken tennis
18/10/2018 22:26 | ham.. That's the precise reason. But now they have a president who's staked his cred on the Dow and high rates aren't good for stocks. Despite sentiment for a Dec hike running at 80%, I'm very sceptical it'll happen. Before then, of course, we have October 24th... | hussyo
18/10/2018 14:23 | Huss. The thing is though, odds are we could hit a global recession in the next 2 years? Overdue really already. If the Fed doesn't have interest rates to lower by 3 or 4% to counter it then they could be in trouble. After all that quantitatitititive easing over the past 10 years, the US are limited on their response capabilities from that angle. Everyone has shot their load on recovering from the last recession, they could be firing blanks on the next one???? | hamhamham1
18/10/2018 08:10 | Ham.. thanks for that. The flippin Fed's obsession with hiking rates will, for now, dampen upside in this. For once, I'm with Trump: Powell is crazy. | hussyo |
