24/10/2007 12:39 | For what it's worth, part of the reason I bought these was with a t/o in mind. Channel Properties and West Coast have about 40% between them, all bought in the last 12 months. Also the poor trading statement is largely temporary/one off problems. Shouldn't detract in the long term IMO. | bollers
24/10/2007 12:36 | Bought some this morning at 190 ,always thought they must have some juicy assets in Jersey ,thats why someone bought up big stake at £3 earlier. | p@
24/10/2007 12:14 | A blip but not very nice for some of the very rich folks that bought up stakes at higher levels. Could see an offer for the whole show maybe NTV? | clocktower
23/10/2007 16:21 | could be on its way down again ;-))))) | ntv
23/10/2007 09:12 | felix they warn every year nearly at some point because wether is unpredictable selling excess stock etc through toms garden centre chain is ideal promoting the other products like the flying flowers brand in his garden centres is ideal just such a perfect fit and loads of ops worldwide could have made this a quality company just need the right boys with control over the purse strings the trouble is it is easy to run and generates loads of cash so the management is on permanent holiday so they take their of the ball and look what happens look at their record | ntv
23/10/2007 09:10 | Terrible trading statement | lbo

26/7/2007 13:14 | The share price weakness seems to suggest the market does not expect the results tomorrow to be great. I think it is inevitable that trading at Garden Direct will have been hit by the wet weather...the only question is by how much. | rnicolson
04/7/2007 20:39 | bollers I think after the MM tree shake and the two large trades of yesterday, the smart money has moved in for the results at the end of July. Good old fashioned MM manipulation. Don't you just love it! CC | cravencottage
04/7/2007 13:52 | Does anyone know the reason for the little flurry of small buys this morning? Was FBDU tipped somewhere? | bollers
21/6/2007 18:25 | @Beaufort, Could be They've sold their call center building, think they got a good price. - could be wrong though | lame duck
20/6/2007 14:08 | I think the Dobbies takeover has focussed attention for two reasons: firstly garden centres and the like have become very fashionable and are prized assets. Gardening Direct isn't the same, obviously, but nonetheless is in a similar space. Also, Tom Hunter and his pals are in the bidding for Dobbies and are also the major shareholder in FBDU (they paid 312.5p for their 29% stake as I remember) so the natural conclusion is that they're ultimately trying to own these companies outright at some point i.e. expect a bid for FBDU sometime in the future. | konkel
