Significant move south this morning. I’m guessing a post agm presentation to fund managers in the City mightn’t have been very well received. Perhaps after almost 2 years in charge our CEO is being found out for yet another cliche sounding exec. The tough decisions just aren’t being made...this company needs to shrink significantly to be profitable.

It was six months ago just found it a little amusing. Nice to see the date of six months results has been released as 14th November.

Why hold the AGM later than previous years and then not give any update ??

Surprised they didn't update. Presumably would have met with brokers so maybe some updates guidance there....

You were right no update on any trading would have been a perfect opportunity

I agree. Cost control is singularly the responsibility of management & clearly further action is required. Hammad spent a fortune on an IT upgrade which appears not to have worked. Why are the current management team not looking at litigating those service providers responsible? Perhaps they are?

Leasing costs continue to fall, but the advantageous USD & fuel hedges are running out, negating the former’s cost benefits.

Not expecting any significant announcement tomorrow, however Flybe remains “in play” imho...the coming weeks & months will be interesting.

Yes, the question is over the size of the loss. Also given the size of their depreciation charge a loss doesn't have to be cash flow negative, although the size of the provisions means it probably will be - they have already taken a big loss through the income statement for things like the uneconomic E195 flying costs as a provision in past periods. So although that doesn't go through the income statement again the cash impact hits the current period.

The narrative we were told was that the issue is with over-capacity. As the fleet is reduced and the leased planes handed back the cost per seat would reduce below the revenue per seat. Yet the cost per seat keeps going up even with fewer number of planes flying. Lack of cost control is a management failing IMO.

Looking at the general consensus they will make another loss this year even tho improvements are being made.

I don't think they will issue an AGM trading statement, they issue a lot of details on revenue & cost in the quarterly statements. They've issued the Q1 statement and it's too soon to issue the Q2. Those who go may get an informal steer - would be particularly interested in their plans to get the rate of cost inflation down for the rest of the year if anyone goes. This is essentially if they are to generate returns for shareholders IMO.

It certainly won't help the cause Flybe have today refused to comment. Let's hope investors get some positives from the AGM this week.

Ryanair announced today flights from Exeter to Naples, Malta and Malaga.

Flybe do not fly to Naples or Malta but do have a route to Malaga.

AGM this Thursday. Interesting if they will be giving enough current trading data to enable Stobart to bid once their bar out expires on 22.9.18.Flybe currently have a flight/seat sale in effect, is it cynical of me to suggest that this is to massage the forward sales position,to be reported at AGM, upwards?

RNS that one UBS fund has upped its stake by 1.44% of the company. No significant price movement, but interesting given the proximity to the AGM.

All planes need painting every few years. I have seen no suggestion that there will be anything other than the normal repainting programme and when that is done it will be the new livery. Cost of painting a Q400 should be c £30k plus downtime of a week or so which is usually planned into a maintenance check.

Maybe they used special paint which reduces air resistance and therefore fuel costs ;-)

Painting up their aircraft isn't exactly cheap. Better to concentrate on the job in hand than change a livery (and all the signage that goes with it) that was only changed a few years ago.
