Flutter-owned online gambling brands FanDuel and PokerStars are now official partners of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE). A Friday press release announced FanDuel Sportsbook as an official sports betting partner, and PokerStars as an official gaming partner of MLSE.

The deal links two Flutter iGaming properties with multiple sports teams under the MLSE banner. MLSE-owned Toronto sports franchises include the Raptors, Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Toronto FC, Argonauts, and Marlies.

Expect partnerships between Canadian sports franchises and online gaming brands to continue to form, as commercial online sports betting launched in Ontario on Monday.

Does anyone else feel that it would make more sense to take ones money to a casino rather than have it invested here??

i believe that way too many expectations placed on smaller guys in Ontario, including SCORE thinking its going to dominate because it had canadian owners. FD will be the lead of a very diverse pack that will get thinner over time. As with mobility players, there will be the Tmobiles, Verizon, and then the smaller guys that target unique demographics.

well well, answers that! Live on first day, We have seen how first mover advantage doesn't always turn to leading the pack eventually, specially for those that spend too much in promos. The user experience in FD Canada will dominate just as it does down south. I have to imagine that NC-Duke result was very very good for us?

In the lowest weekly handle since the Jan 8 start, FD continues to dominate the NY market. Some real stragglers starting to emerge.

OK. I only read their own press release. IN any case, it will be soon. First mover advantage is known in other markets, yet the FD experience quickly takes that over and becomes #1...

Big players are in no hurry to start in Ontario.

Two major online gambling brands, DraftKings and Caesars, aren't on the list of operators approved for launch in Ontario on Monday. A total of 16 operators have been approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, with DraftKings and Caesars noticeably absent from that list.

Other big names that won't be immediately in the mix in Ontario include FanDuel, PointsBet, and Unibet. All three of those brands have been approved for launch by the AGCO, however.
