Lottery operator Sisal has announced a new advisory board to support its bid for the fourth UK National Lottery Licence.

Chaired by British business executive Karren Brady, the board will support Sisal with strategic counsel during the licensing process.

Crossbench peer, chair of Social Enterprise UK and chair and founder of Collaborate, Lord Victor Adebowale, will also serve on the new board, alongside former Asda chief executive and non-executive chairman Andy Clarke.

Other members include experienced international operator, Plc and private equity executive Gary Hughes, UK Creative Industries leader MT Rainey, and Conservative Peer and former Minister for Culture Lord Ed Vaizey.

Camelot( the National Lottery operator since its inception in 1997) and was sold to a Canadian pension fund by a UK-led consortium. Sisal(The 1.6bn Flutter acquisition), and Sazka(aka Allwyn, a Czech betting group) are all contenders to run the National Lottery from 2024 to 2034.

Good to see well positioned in the lead in NY after Caesars early and hugely costly flurry has recededUsual 50pc+ lead by March figures look likely given turnover as the usual Spread The Love promos etc will have engaged the audience nicely in first month or so, confusing the lesser knowledgable Camelot have been poor lately, looking tired and uninspired, not that they were great previously, too many minor games of more frequency when, as seen with EuroMillions it is the weekly huge prize that gets people going. Could be a big win, far better technology under Flutter and across all users over 5m extra to target.

Flutter Entertainment launches 11th-hour bid to return National Lottery to UK hands. Britain's biggest bookmaker has launched an eleventh-hour bid to bring the National Lottery back into domestic ownership as a hard-fought auction comes to a climax.

...the struggle to run the Nationwide Lottery for as much as a decade from 2024 stands on a knife-edge. Revenues over a ten-year length may best £80bn.

Its not sustainable, and that is good because they have all lost their shirts grabbing customers. We are in for a calmer period, until march madness just over a month away. We will know much more in the upcoming 2021 earnings event coming in early March.

Nevertheless, what is great is that NJ maintained much of its revenue, despite NY coming on board. I am betting that other states are going to move forward their approval agendas, particularly Mass and others that are now surrounded by states where its legal.

NY continues to crush records despite a limited number of operators, high license fees and a nation-leading 51 percent tax rate on gross gaming revenue; with football season ending - and companies likely to curtail promotional spend - its too early to tell if these massive figures are sustainable, but the initial launch has in many ways already blown past expectations.

FD is the best app in USA. Expect more consolidation as some books won’t continue to bleed promos making their overhead untenable with lower market share. Some of the smaller books can’t hold up. We are in a macro down turn due to global issues but give it time .
