New York has recorded more than $1.1 billion in total online sports wagering handle in just over two weeks of legal mobile betting, state regulators reported today. New York's January 2021 will be the all-time single-month record for sports betting handle for any state.

New York online sports betting operators (total handle - total revenue since launch):

Caesars: $487.4m - $41.8m
FanDuel: $360m - $24.2m
DraftKings: $265.5m - $21.8m
BetRivers: $22.2m - $1.2m

*BetMGM and PointsBet have both launched but figures have not been reported

Few days before results a good indicator here, noted to be a bit leaky. A couple more up days will be tellingI do wonder that after NY and Louisiana this month whether the base will be so large that the US will be producing high enough monthly revenue to fund future launches internally ie in profit from Feb, June, whenever onwards Having no divvi when huge levels of profit are rolling in is getting tiresome. If it wasn't for Covid they would still get paying. It also puts us in the sane category as Lisa making DK and thus ignored by many buyers. I hope this will be addressed next week, it should be

FLTR started the day at 106. Went up to 109.5, back to 106 and may not hold the gain by the time day end. Not able to hold intraday gain. DKNG is up 14% today

I believe Flutter will want to solidify their partnership with Fox and maybe sell Foxbet to them as part of the settlement. They are not keen on Foxbet and don’t really need it anymore.

PointsBet announced today it is now live in New York, making it the sixth online sportsbook to go live of the nine awarded licenses. Still to launch are WynnBet, BallyBet & Resorts World Group.

Florida sports betting ballot measure ‘doomed,’; consultant says

The DraftKings and FanDuel-backed Florida Education Champions (FEC) initiative has spent $35 million trying to get its question on the ballot but is running short of time.

As of a Tuesday, the FEC petition had reached just over 427,000 verified signatures. It needs 891,589 to not just be submitted but verified by the end of this month to qualify for the 2022 ballot.

This shortfall comes despite the best efforts of many of the gaming industry’s biggest names, including part-time Florida resident Dave Portnoy, the Barstool Sports founder who has attempted to sway Floridians in favor of the petition with one of his “Emergency Press Conference.”

DraftKings, meanwhile, is offering 100 “DK dollars” to its Floridian customers should the effort succeed in getting the question on the ballot.

But neither the bluster of Portnoy nor the mild bribery of DraftKings – or the millions in spending – looks like it will be enough.
