Decided to buy back in to FXPO at today's price - a small amount relatively - just under 12,000 shares. - share price seems to have stabilised but given the ongoing Russia/Ukraine debacle, could easily have been a bad decision on my part if the situation escalates. We'll see. I've seen the share bob up and down over the last few months and hope to at least see it get back to 230p for some xmas spending money. Fingers crossed for some positive newsflow.

Just one view of the current situation with Russia/Ukraine - while Europe fiddles with Brexit and Trump tries to keep the migrants out, we may yet see a more robust invasion of Ukraine's Eastern region. All we have in response are more ineffective sanctions.

looked like FXPO was stabalising but slipping a bit now and iron ore price again down a bit overnight although this seems less relevant . Hopefully the ukraine/Russian
confrontation will die down in time . A Putin fatal heart attack would help ! (n wry smile )

Hi Arja,

Yes, I worked in Ukraine (Kiev) for about seven years, and was there just after the events of The Maidan. A lot of corruption was evident at high levels and low levels of society. But mostly, the people I spoke to wanted to be part of a wider Europe and to distance themselves from Russia. But Kiev was and is not necessarily an accurate reflection of a wider Ukraine - pretty much as London is not an accurate reflection of the UK - almost being like a country within a country, with wide gulfs in lifestyle and opinions just a few short miles out of the capital.
Ferrexpo share price will undoubtedly climb back up to much higher levels - and possibly this is a great place to get back in. I'm on the sidelines at the moment, having been in and out since about 2008/2009. Been a rocky ride.

yes, bellbottom. I have been in Ukraine quite a lot some years ago and was in crimea twice . Now Russian and hassle of invitation , visa . police reg etc just to visit
and about £200 cost for that ! sadly , I think aggressive Putin will try to annexe Donetck region as he knows the west will not intervene militarily . I have two old
friends in Russia who yearn for democracy and hate Putin but 70% of russians are "sheep" as andrey calls them and blindly follow this thug.

And we mustn't forget the real possibility of escalation in Eastern Ukraine, with Russian backed rebels and Russian equipment as well as soldiers and volunteers from Russia involved.
Even the possibility of annexation - though I think even Putin wouldn't go this far, but it's still a possibility if he doesn't manage to 'steal' the area by long term 'drip drip' effect, which is happening now and been going on for over four years now.
As you say Arja - gangster, mafia style thug at the helm.

bellbottom,
russian media is mainly lies and and propoganda as you must know if you ever watch RT and the way they descrobed what happened in Crimea and of course the poisonings. Putin is just a mafia style thug running a gangster state .

foxy22,
chart looks bad and suggests it could eventually go back to 160 or even 150 level but might not happen in a straight line . Maybe sell half on intra day bounce but I often got it wrong in days past when I held stocks and did not trade much . So of course DYOR .

Unfortunately I think that the current situation between Russia and Ukraine in the Kerch Strait, will have a downward impact on the share price Not sure who's in the wrong with the individual incident concerned, but def Russia having built the bridge and then checking all ships into and out of the Azov Sea was the starting point for the crisis. A bit like if the UK built a bridge across the Med from Gibraltar to Africa and started checking all individual ships into and out of the Med.

Reason for excessive fall compared to other miners is potential new Mexico legislation that could well impact their profits. By how much? Probably not as much as the % fall in the share price recently. And it is only proposed legislation that might not happen.
