23/6/2010 07:20 | David Hudd, Chairman of Falkland Islands Holdings plc, said: "I am delighted to report a successful year for the Group, with all three trading businesses performing well in extremely tough market conditions. Whilst we expect the forthcoming year to be challenging, we are confident that the diversity of the Group's portfolio places it in a strong position to benefit in the medium term as the wider economy recovers. With drilling underway on the Toroa prospect in the South Falklands basin, we are nearer to determining the full potential of our stake in FOGL. Although a deep water rig will be required for FOGL's other prospects, the ongoing drilling activity will continue to boost demand in the Falklands. ... we are currently examining the development opportunities in the Islands which will result from a successful oil outcome | robson1974
23/6/2010 07:19 | Market Cap £45m Value of Direct FOGL shares = £24m Enterprise Value of Operating businesses = £21m Operating Profit achieved by Operating businesses = c.£3.2m EV/Operating Profit = c.6x for an Infrastructure business with MASSIVE growth potential This stock should be 1000p+ IMO as it has almost zero value attributed for the Falklands potential illustrated by the combined almost £2000m market caps of the Falkland Explorers | robson1974

22/6/2010 12:55 | Robson- good thought re your post 170. If cash raising is necessary, that's what should be done. And on no account a rights issue, since the Momart deal was done within a couple of years of FOGL drilling and which it was always obvious might lead to big cash demands. | ![]() whackford

17/6/2010 22:36 | They should if anything sell peripheral stuff like PHFC and Momart to focus all resources on the Falklands property and shipping industry. It was a decent use of shareholder resources at one time to diversify. Now management role should be focus. | robson1974

17/6/2010 10:58 | The preliminary results will hopefully be more clear about what's coming due to oil find in Falkland waters. I would like to see a nice clear strategy to develop their asset base to meet the offshore oil opportunity head on. I really couldn't give a monkeys for the Ilex squid catch, or Momart, or PHFC..... | ![]() craftyspeculator

14/6/2010 07:43 | Falkland Islands Holdings plc, the AIM quoted international services group which owns essential services businesses focused on transport and logistics and which has a major shareholding in AIM quoted oil exploration company Falkland Oil and Gas Limited, will be reporting Preliminary Results for the year ended 31st March 2010 on Wednesday, 23rd June 2010. | robson1974
10/6/2010 16:25 | Just got rid of 888 (at a loss) and used released funds to add to FKL on the dip. Apart from PPT (which i can't offload) and MWH (which i don't want to offload), i'm now fully SIPP invested (£15k) in Oil & Gold for a long-term HOLD ! | georgio44
10/6/2010 15:23 | Speaking of low quality information, When are you going to correct the header? The Upland Goose is no longer a hotel!!!!! | the black spanner
10/6/2010 15:16 | FOGL frisky on low quality rumourtrage. However a FOGL share price of 200p implies the market thinks the chances of Toroa coming in are about 5% 1/20 (if not less !) when given the supporting evidence the correct odds should be closer to 1/10 implying FOGL should be trading closer to 350p IMO | robson1974
09/6/2010 14:46 | decent consolidation below the recent highs | robson1974

08/6/2010 20:07 | Richgit - I make you right as long as they hit the black stuff, maybe not on every drill obviously but it only needs a single strike from each of the 4 imo. I now have a small (only about £1k each) long-term Hold (in a SIPP) on the suite of 5 but may gradually add to each given the various results that are going to crop up. Have other Oilies (AFR, SOLO, RRL, etc) & Goldies (ABG, VGM, GRL, etc) all on the hunt and awaiting good news in the future. Good luck ! | georgio44
08/6/2010 10:53 | The frenzy hasnt even begun yet,as most people just watch the news about how the UK will cuts its debts. Yet just wait until UK Newspapers feature how FKL`s Oil could help, though there will be some fighting over revenues and FKL will get their slice. When thousands take up their £500 worth to tuck away for 10 years or more in the same way as holding some premium bonds-the stock will just get tighter and tighter. Most haven`t even realised what the Rockhopper discovery alone will mean for for FKL for the medium term and of course the longer term. Assuming some more good news from all those drills, and the reality will sink in,and it could be something to behold,or more - (will be ). I confess this is my 10 year hold- assuming nothing interferes with that stance,an investment amount I can forget about, that may pay back awesomely in 10 years time,so I wont be quitting for just a minor multiple. That`s my agenda. GLA | ![]() richgit
07/6/2010 15:42 | I really don't hold out too much hope for Toroa will be a nice surprise if it comes in. I understand it to be a 'commitment' well so it won't be too bad if it fails but great if it succeeds from a fundamental viewpoint, that will not stop the price tanking on an actual failure of course. The evidence of COV and NPE and RKH recently shows you can often get in AFTER the well result BUT before the big rise for EXCELLENT risk-adjusted returns. | robson1974
07/6/2010 15:27 | robson ....BUT by that stage FOGL will be getting close to news.....IMHO....so speculation will build well before then and should be quite explosive....We hope!! | ![]() goldrush
07/6/2010 15:22 | 550p acting as short term resistance, which is nice for long term investors Might require results on June 23rd before some marketing of the story to take place | robson1974 |
