05/6/2010 21:53 | coverage starting to get a bit hysterical..but still only 2 drills into a 10 drill campaign ! FKL is the sleeper play which no-one really has cottoned onto yet, still about 40% off its all-time high of a few years ago despite oil actually having been found now ! | robson1974
04/6/2010 14:42 | me to had to dump mine for a 5p loss, the markets a poor today | ![]() envirovision
04/6/2010 12:49 | Results due in a few weeks. I suspect once those are out of the way they will be more public about their plans and potential now oil has been confirmed. | robson1974
04/6/2010 12:28 | I suppose the question now is not whether this will be profitable but how long it will take the various Falkland non oil parts of this company to appreciate and feed thru to the bottom line. Any Guesses ?? | ![]() oblomof2
04/6/2010 12:13 | I sold some of these yesterday, regret it today, what i have learn't , is this is a stock to hold and accumulate on any dips if you believe the Falklands story ,or ,if your fortunate enough not to be at lunch ,when the market decides to smash the Falkland stocks. Not a stock to trade as the spread can become the year high and low. | ![]() condom2
04/6/2010 10:41 | taken a smallish posn. looked inviting. thanks chaps. | ![]() oblomof2
04/6/2010 10:11 | Had to take a punt today after RKH good news. | ![]() envirovision
04/6/2010 08:33 | This just looks a no-brainer now. Quite clear the whole of the Falklands plays have been significantly de-risked. You would be playing with fire punting on any particular Oiler but you can get access to the picks and shovel provider in the coming gold(oil) rush here. Combined Market Cap of Falkland Oilers approaching £2000m ! Enterprise Value of the only listed Falklands property/shipping play £8m ?! | robson1974
04/6/2010 08:19 | Added again.......... | ![]() goldenshare888
04/6/2010 07:51 | I have FKL as a 'sleep easily at night' long term play and also some direct exposure to RKH and FOGL. I see almost zero downside risk with FKL as despite the £40m odd market cap about £40m is backed by non-Falkland assets ! There is almost 0 value in FKL for the actual Falkland property and shipping assets/services IMO | robson1974
04/6/2010 02:48 | Robson1974 thank you for your explanation which you clearly have faith in or you would not be invested here and I can see its merits . I find it interesting that you seem to prefer this to other FI plays. Is that because there is probably a lot less downside risk or that you think the upside is a higher multiple of the present share price. Presumably on a slightly longer time scale than the pure oil plays. Do I read you correctly?. Would you care to hazard a guess as to the time scale involved ,or is that a little unfair. Thanks anyway clearly a very interesting proposition. All the best Oblomof. | ![]() oblomof2
04/6/2010 02:27 | Eburne1960 I saw Bulfords 17,611% but it seemed fantastical and have no idea how he could remotely have conceived such a high figure ,hence my question to Robson1974. Thank you for your response,if you can shed any further light on this figure I should be grateful. Regards Oblomof. | ![]() oblomof2
03/6/2010 22:03 | No idea of how to calculate the upside but the discrepancy between combined market cap of the Falkland Oilers and the only listed Falkland property and shipping play is of the order of £1000m At some point if they start actual development that gap should close one would imagine. You only need to look at other examples of 'oil cities/regions' and the transformative effect of oil/gas development on related property and service sectors. | robson1974
03/6/2010 19:52 | According to Tom Bulford of Red Hot Penny Shares, the upside is 17,611%!! | ![]() eburne1960
03/6/2010 11:41 | Robson1974 I I have been looking at FKL lately and they certainly look a good punt or more . I wonder If you would care to give me a ball park figure for the upside .Downside seems well protected. Cheers Oblomof | ![]() oblomof2
03/6/2010 09:39 | hmm further reason for my stance of steering clear of DES | robson1974
02/6/2010 15:42 | Hi Richgit, "Dont worry,.where there is Oil it will get sucked out." I'm sure it will... but will it get sucked out into a pipeline or just straight into the ocean? Never mind, I'm not going to worry unduly. Sure the Falklands are miles from anywhere, who'd notice the odd million barrels or so of crude floating away down there? [Apart from the accountants, that is]. | ![]() omigod
02/6/2010 14:36 | omigod. Dont worry,.where there is Oil it will get sucked out. We have been sucking it out of the North Sea for long enough-it will just mean more thought and pre-planning is put into fail-safes. BP have acted like total amateurs-and even moreso when they were holding such a prize and so much trust. However-When all the market turmoil finally ends, the World will be faced with the reality of the Oil shortages for the future, and BP have for the moment made that prospect even more serious. | ![]() richgit
01/6/2010 16:10 | They'll never get it out, we know fully what happens when you drill in a depth of 1 mile of water... ecological disaster, that's what. It's bound to happen, there can be no other outcome... not least because I have shares in the companies who're doing it. | ![]() omigod
01/6/2010 14:41 | What's going to happen here if they hit oil then - v.exciting.... | ![]() babylon3 |
