Never has this company been so vulnerable to a takeover bid for MGM to have a final crack at it. At something along the lines of the previous offer I would be sorely tempted. From MGMs point of view it must make sense!

Back office and product will be supported by entain. I’ve asked before why did they stump up for the angstrom takeover on the same day of the marriot bon voyage group. Then they are working solely on bet mgm?

Never has this company been more exposed to a cheap takeover. When is it going to get its act together?

I wouldn't be surprised if some talks took place on a takeover, however even with the activist investors I can't see anything happening while the share price languishes down here, the major shareholders are probably averaging a higher share price than current so there's no real upside other than getting even to invest elsewhere, not really the name of the game, I think they'll hold to win

Entain is the fourth worst-performing company in terms of total shareholder returns in the FTSE 100 over the past couple of years. Despite all of this, the company is holding strong and has rejected two takeover offers from DraftKings and MGM. Perhaps a change in leadership could give Entain a rosier outlook headed into 2024 following the resignation of Nygaard-Andersen. Whatever the case, the next 12 months will prove vital

Good luck, yes. Well done for getting out in profit. I do feel the drop from ~1200p was entirely down to the total dissatisfaction with Blondie puppet and nothing else. I, for one, had this sailing down to silly levels if she remained in situ, but I'm feeling more optimistic now she's gone. Bring on the takeover rumours. Imagine AG being CEO...That would be interesting too.

Article is quite upsetting and the cullings I'd tried to forget, even though still affecting sleep. But anyway...I can't see how this can work out with Littlewoods Barry being so into Blondie puppet. Surely, a takeover is the only thing that can resolve this as the board would never welcome someone who has business experience. Would that need to be a hostile takeover I wonder?

As ItalianoFacile and 1millenial say the main thrust of the FT article is about activist investors piling on pressure for change, particularly as Entain is now worth considerably less than the previously rejected takeover offers. It also notes that Entain's chair is encouraging them to be patient with their demand for board seats, particularly as negotiations on the historic bribery charges are very near to concluding with a possibility of an agreement as early as next month. Finally the article notes that BetMGM is the 3rd most popular betting app in the online US market and the joint venture with MGM is a bright spot.

Horny has said no attempt at takeover. but what do people think of some kind of merger? BET MGM is after all the crown jewel in Ent's portfolio..

Unfortunately, the only news that really moved this stock was the takeover announcement and then rumours. I am not suggesting that it gets bought, but on good profits alone, it will take a long while to recover. Let’s see how the market reacts to the BETMGM update and the fine settlement.

I can see £7 sadly, unless something happens. Not sure what, other than a takeover premium. It is clear and obvious that the market has lost interest with Entain, and more so now with the consecutive bad rns publications. Doubt listing in the US has been thought about by the management team, given the lack of any mention of it….. Frustrating, is an understatement!
