best to believe nothing from any body unless it is from the company - like PCL chairman yesterday confirming "Dempsey project has been
drilled, yielding intersections of gas
at several target levels. Flow testing is in progress, with the expectation of early commercial success"

Kev.
I think they have learned a lot about how they announce news - since their last disaster!
I had assumed that whichever zone they were on when they get a flow that has potential, they will say nothing until it has been pressure tested for at least a week. There would be nothing worse than shouting from the rooftops about gas flowing, only for it to fizzle out within 24 hours.
But my knowledge of how this testing might work is limited, compared to yours :-)

Somehow the post rings true. Was a right and proper answer that "stash" received, and the garbled difficulties in contact via telephone made it genuine. Gets a thumbs up from me

It actually fits the picture, but i certainly would not take that as gospel. If true, this would clearly be very good news, but it doesn't fit Sacgasco's normal modus operandi of shouting out immediately about the smallest piece of news of a potentially positive nature. Frankly, I am baffled by the lack of news and have nothing to add from the other discussions.

Thanks Kev.
It would indeed be an interesting development if they were still testing Zone 2 - and had been doing so for some days..

The guy obviously doesn't understand the meaning of 'inside information.'

Aqueeky bum time it would appear. Well I'm not going to bail. Have tried to do this and get in cheaper on other occasions and got burned. At least one of these zones is going to come up with the goods GLA

But does it equally take a long time to determine if a hole is unrecoverable following some kind of undesirable event?

TG.
Poor volume on SGC trading.
Whilst delay is frustrating, I'm working on the basis if there was bad news they have to announce it and that the volume would be much bigger if there was a leak.
For sure the mm's will exploit.

A lot of unjustified deramping on the hotcopper board, hence the big fall. There is no reason why that should happen here but no doubt the MMs will take advantage of the Sagasco price fall.

Assuming that there hasn't been a major catastrophe, we should be very near to positive news. As Nick said yesterday, it doesn't take long to determine that a zone is not commercial, so I believe that the announcement will be positive, once we get it.

If they are measuring flow rates would they not let it flow during the W/e and hols...5 day week would not be relevant..

The last news was 14/11. That arguably left only 3 working days that week. The following week 2 days minimum were lost to Thanksgiving. We're 4 days into this week so that's 10 working days. It may seem like forever but it's only 10 working days.

For the love of God, the next news released from Sacgasco best be very good or we will be very badly punished.
I have no problem waiting if the news is worth waiting for, the lack of news does twist the melon wondering why though?

bskiny,

Overall testing can take some time but they have always intended to maximise early cash flow.

From EME on 18 Sep:-

"A more complete understanding of the potential gas available for future production will likely require some months of flow testing and production, combined with integration of data from the Dempsey 1-15 well with the 3D seismic data."

Well if this dips under 14p, i will have a look behind the settee. Needs to buy some more to make it into a round number 1. But every penny drop is quite expensive for my portfolio.

Tend to look for news at 5am where I am which is 1 am UK time. Tomorrow??

With a World Class asset, they may have other things up their sleeve and a series of other announcements.

If this is allowed to flow at full force for a number of days that is a lot of wasted gas. They would not put it into the pipeline before testing it...Having googled this most are talking hours of testing rather than days....does anyone know.!!
