04/12/2017 11:13 | Frustrating!! They've kept the logging results secret, we don't know whether they're testing a minor lower zone or one of the main target zones. No idea what prospective pay is currently being tested nor how much of it has been perforated. Hence the share price reaction. My guess, fwiw, is that the current zone is borderline commercial rather than a barn burner.... | thegreatgeraldo
04/12/2017 11:10 | Toon any idea when results will be out? Hopefully before Xmas week this year! | blueblood
04/12/2017 10:57 | Hi Swampy, I think the slightly vague reporting is part of the plan to keep certain information confidential. I do agree that Jeffries banging on about the various zones in a presentation and then not referring to the specific zones tested is a little incongruous. It’s a tricky one, in that shareholders want to be informed, but the commercial advantage of being vague I imagine is considered to help with the purchase price of any additional leases the JV may be looking at. Having said that, anyone with a little common sense will be able to glean from the comments made by the various JV partners, that we have a very big success here. Perhaps the market thinks that both SGC and EME will need to raise money. The latter for different reasons. Buffy | buffythebuffoon
04/12/2017 10:55 | Kev James: Your post 13435 good summary of what I also believe is going on here with Dempsey, hence SGC initial jump on RNs last night to completely fizzle out by end of the session, they need cash-flow more so than EME at the moment and I would guess the mention of Alvarez was certainly a sop to the existing partners XST specifically as well as its own shareholders. The beauty of the RNs is the positivity within it and I certainly believe we will be having more RNs shortly and hopefully ones on Duyung & China as well as Dempsey, come on Tom lets be having it:). | thetoonarmy2
04/12/2017 09:54 | From today's RNS! "While work is still ongoing on Dempsey, and this is our primary focus at this time, we have continued planning for a re-entry of the Alvares gas discovery well – a further reflection of our confidence that we are in the early stages of proving up a large petroleum system in the Sacramento Basin.” For and on behalf of the Board of Sacgasco Limited." 04/12/2017 09:40 | Oilforex. I take the exact opposite view to what I think you were saying. I would suggest that the vast majority of people who now hold here (certainly in terms of the number of shares held) know exactly why they hold and continue to hold. The price action so far this morning would indicate that those who didn't need to understand the story (momentum traders and the like) are long since gone on to their next play. California (Dempsey, lookalikes and Alvares) is only part of the EME story and, if commercial, underpins everything else that EME has to offer over the next year or so. Nothing I have read today makes me even contemplate selling and like others, will add more on weakness in the absence of further news. Imo | jemjem
04/12/2017 09:32 | Telling us to be patient and I am not surprised when they are having to deal with 6000 psi gas. Reads, to me, as might not have results until end Jan, but will be worth waiting for. | barony
04/12/2017 09:27 | Looking back at the original aim of Dempsey it was stated to be an "exploration and appraisal" well. So we got to target depth without any major issues and discovered numerous (about 9) gas bearing reservoirs. At this stage I would then of expected a plan to appraise each zone so they could understand the full extent of what was "explored" and come up with a gas field development plan. However, they appeared to shift strategy after the completion of the well to one of testing from the bottom up and then connecting straight to the pipeline any commercial flow - why?? The answer is clearly cashflow. However, once a zone is connected, it stops any further appraisal of the well until that zone is depleted/flow rate drops to uncommercial rates. So what happens to the rig and crew during that time (they go home) - what about the other 7 zones, how do we know their true worth??? I think this is the issue that now face the management team. They need cashflow, but they need to understand the rest of the well - what is the answer?? Flowing gas at zone 2 is tremendous news, but the zones above may be much better but how do they form a strategy to test them!! This is tricky to solve and I imagine is causing some angst amongst the partners - I would expect more news soon. AIMHO. | kevjames

04/12/2017 09:23 | ADVFN bulletin boards... full of people with holdings underwater, shouts to top up every time the price goes down, those who by their own admission have no idea what they've bought into and blatent lies by those trying to manipulate the price to their own ends. What a fantastic place to frequent. It's no wonder no one posts any real information here. Good luck all. | oilforex
04/12/2017 09:23 | Promising potential But in spite of the recent disappointment, Empyrean could still offer promising growth potential should its Dempsey well project come good. As the company said in its statement on 18 November, “analysis of this zone, and its full potential, remain at an early stage.” What’s more, the tests are being conducted in the order from the lowest up, and not in priority of interpreted significance, meaning some disappointing results were likely before sufficient commercial flow for production would be found. Initial estimates put the project’s potential recoverable reserves at between 116 and 352bn cubic feet of gas. But should all the stacked reservoirs be full of gas, the cumulative unrisked recoverable resource within the Dempsey prospect could rise to more than 1trn cubic feet. And that’s even before we consider Empyrean’s other interests outside of California, including in China and Indonesia. | malcolmmm
04/12/2017 09:05 | Underwhelming RNS imho But still all to play for at Dempsey and with news on other fronts due anytime Happy to be holding | judijudi
04/12/2017 09:04 | brimsley, for pity sake stop lying, you don't have a clue what you are talking about! Read this article below it will help you understand how the US natural gas distribution system works in simple terms - even you can understand! How Does the Natural Gas Delivery System Work? Gas flowing from higher to lower pressure is the fundamental principle of the natural gas delivery system. The amount of pressure in a pipeline is measured in pounds per square inch. From the well, the natural gas goes into "gathering" lines, which are like branches on a tree, getting larger as they get closer to the central collection point............. | harrissen

04/12/2017 08:53 | Nope Audit first permit second 100 days check doggr no different to building a house or laying a road to suggest cashflow is to hand is pure lies and you know it last chance to exit 12p cometh do yourself a favor harrisen | brimsley
04/12/2017 08:52 | As someone who knows nowt about the O & G business, I see Dempsey similar to a penalty shoot out. I'm reasonably confident of this zone......however we have several even bigger shots at goal in the future. Please keep selling. I will be buying when further funded on Friday and will report my BUY. 04/12/2017 08:30 | brimsley 4 Dec '17 - 08:22 - 13422 of 13422 0 0 It takes 100 days to audit and accept any gas for domestic supply to the pipeline that is AFTER any stabilised flow placing ahoy without doubt now .................... Absolute rubbish! The gas at Dempsey is clean enough to go straight in to the domestic supply pipes and is doing so as we speak. We are actually making profits from the Dempsey already! "The second zone of gas shows in the well has been perforated and is in the process of being tested. This zone has flowed dry natural gas and no water and has confirmed initial shut-in pressures exceeding 6,000 psi." | harrissen

04/12/2017 08:22 | Tests to be conducted sequentially from lowest up (not in priority of interpreted significance ) and will cease once sufficient commercial flow is established for production | kwizza
04/12/2017 08:19 | The zone currently being tested is the second of multiple additional zones to test below the field production level reservoirs. Suggests to me there are multiple zones to test beneath the X zones | petercrosby
04/12/2017 08:19 | Some seem to have been caught napping here and are putting a damper on today's RNS. If you wait for commercial gas to be confirmed you will have to buy at prices in excess of 20p+ on opening this is a gift price imo and on the virge of great things about to happen in the next few days, weeks! | harrissen |
