18/5/2017 10:38 | When I get back to my desk, if I can be bothered I will update the Stockopedia article I wrote on EKT "Elektron what a disaster" From 2005-2015 they made £22.6m of operating profit, but had an exceptional item every single year, totalling £18.4m of exceptionals, effectively wiping out profits. If you have exceptional every year, as you are constantly acquiring, disposing, sacking then are they exceptional or just in the ordinary course of business ? And they are at it again today. Another £0.8m of exceptional. This is very blunt ( and I will have to check this once home) but add on last year's operating profit of £0.2m add on this year's pre exceptional operating loss of £0.8m and that means 12 year operating profit is now £22m. Add on today's £0.8m exceptional and they total now£19.2m over twelve years. So, it is even worse than when I wrote that article two years ago !!! PS this is all on the back of an envelope......I must check, or there may be more lawyers letters !!! | graham1ty
18/5/2017 08:45 | I suppose they at least have a 5 year plan. after all if they had not had previous 5 year plans they would never have "expanded through acquisition" and would not now be able to "contract through disposals". You have to repeatedly open Torquay or you can't repeatedly shut it if you see what i mean. Hopefully this 5 year plan will take into account the difficult trading situation that has dogged the company for 15 years and rather than see it as exceptional they might realise its actually normal and banking crises, problems between the UK and EU, wars, and currency fluctuations and cannot be passed off as exceptional. The one thing we can learn from this statement is nothing changes, come back in 5 years. | blackss
18/5/2017 08:33 | I'm still hearing rumours(not to be repeated) that we could soon be a FTSE350 company!!! | tilly99
18/5/2017 08:00 | This is the bit that makes me laugh :-) "Checkit leads its competitors because of its combination of:" stop right there Mr Daley. Checkit leads its competitors ? No it bloody doesnt. | blackss
18/5/2017 07:33 | All these businesses have developed five-year business plans including new product development roadmaps. So having been promised great things every year for the last 10 years, our BOD are now stating it will take another five years until they get out of the mess they created Daley and Wilson got 300k jobs for life..yet haven't delivered for over 15 yearsPathetic performance No dividends even though Daley said it was sacrosanctAnd now Daley has control and can't be sacked he won't be buying back shares!! | tilly99
18/5/2017 07:25 | Another disastrous year, massive losses, no sales from Chuckit. Bonuses all round I say !!! | graham1ty
17/5/2017 11:18 | Figures tomorrowWill Kinder and Perloff continue to back a losing horse in KD and JW as they continue to waste millions of pounds of shareholder money on checkit having lost millions on Hartest and China relocation and director redundancies and selling Versarien at a massive lossWill Daley resign tomorrow after his diabolical performance the last 7 years@daleyanswerabl | tilly99
15/5/2017 21:58 | CEO's main responsibility is the business; they are responsible for Strategy and future policy to ensure the business is profitable and healthy. The ultimate responsibility of the CEO is the share price and shareholder value. Chief Operating Officer, and Operations Directors' main responsibilities are to concentrate on operating the business. Unless a Company is a Cooperative, a mutual or State run business the ultimate responsibility of the CEO is to deliver shareholder value! | tilly99
15/5/2017 21:00 | Directors have far reaching legal responsibilities, and owe a fiduciary duty to the company they serve as principal. They have wide ranging duties of loyalty and good faith to their company, and are also under duties of care, diligence and skill to promote the success of the company. Failing to observe their responsibilities and perform their duties could lead to disqualification as a director, fines, criminal prosecution or being made personally liable for the company's debts.Daley has to promote the success of the companyHe hasn't done this If we have no successes then Faley should leave Time for Daley to get removedHe has failed us all | tilly99
15/5/2017 12:58 | Beeks You can be sure that codebreaker is only one of a dozen names the guy uses and one will be a blue name. I expect he has an alert set for posts here in his blue name These people are just trolls and often think they are being clever but the truth is everything they do is pretty transparent. Not sure why ST is bothered about votes up or down anyway ? the guy is only voting him down to wind him up, it's part of the game. | blackss
15/5/2017 12:28 | Simon, only blue (paid for) posters can downvote. | beeks of arabia
15/5/2017 11:00 | Whoever has thumbed down my post why not have the guts to say who you are? One of my family is currently traumatised at the moment partly due to all the wrongdoing in this company, I would like to know what type of posters who revel in suffering. | simon templar qc
13/5/2017 18:26 | Simon I do feel that this year we will see some fireworksDaley knows that his time is up unless he pulls something out the bagShareholders aren't just going to pay for his lavish lifestyle of champagne and trips abroad without getting something back in terms of ekt share price gains | tilly99
13/5/2017 17:59 | yoyo The voting is irrelevant I have evidence the voting structure corrupted. Management will never ever benefit through wrongdoing there is clear legal precedent on that. Not only is litigation on-going, extremely radical legal measures are to be taken almost imminently. I simply cannot say what measures at the moment I am too tied up with numerous matters. | simon templar qc
13/5/2017 16:47 | I can imagine Daley saying to Wilson"Don't worry about our share price or promoting the company,as long as we survive and we can keep earning 600k between us every year plus big bonuses then we have to be more than happy" | tilly99
13/5/2017 16:12 | Very embarrassing for Daley that not one PI or institution turned up at the AGM last year..just 15 Ekt employees and the BODWhat an embarrassment Sums up Ekt | tilly99
13/5/2017 16:11 | Agreed Mr TemplarWe backed the wrong guy in JWAs did Daley in not backing RickettsDaley promoted the wrong guy and must now be full of regrets | tilly99
13/5/2017 14:22 | "Any cancellation of a company’s securities on AIM will be conditional upon seeking shareholder approval in general meeting of not less than 75% of votes cast by its shareholders present and voting (in person or by proxy) at the meeting." | yoyoy
13/5/2017 14:08 | You are correct the management acquisition strategy completely and utterly failed and almost ruined the company. Notwithstanding all the exceptional cost and including paying themselves excessive fees and bonuses. | simon templar qc |
